We booked at the last minute online, not realizing its distance from the ferry terminal. However, we were very happy with the staff, service, and accommodations. Our room was large, clean, and comfortable. For the price, we expected perhaps a continental breakfast, but were content to eat at Mum's down the road (opens at 6AM).

This was a spur of the moment get-away and it was such a great & enjoyable trip. Now mind you making our way into Mindemoya where we stayed, was not the greatest - road construction, road construction & more road construction. However once we got to our destination, all was well. This is a quaint little town and everyone who lives there smiles & takes the time to speak to you - very friendly folk. There appears to be four restaurants in Mindemoya but only two were open and only one serves breakfast. Mom's Bakery was okay & the food not too bad (this is the one that serves breakfast). Grill & Chill was where we ate most of our meals: it was right beside our Motel; the food was absolutely delicious; the servers were such nice people and very hard working. It is only open Tuesday to Saturday, lunch & dinner only. It is so busy people line up to wait for a spot to clear so they can go in & have their meal. We stayed at the Manitoulin Inn and I wouldn't hesitate to refer people there. The outside was very well maintained and our room was spacious, beds were comfortable, lots of hot water & pressure in the shower , it was all so very clean. The Manager Cynthia was very friendly, very helpful, really genuine and told us if there was anything we needed to contact her. Yes Manitoulin Island is a beautiful place - so calm, quiet & serene. This was our first visit to Manitoulin Island but it definitely won't be our last.

Room Tip: Our room was at the front: very quiet, spacious, very clean and the beds very comfortable.

While place was clean when we first arrived, the second day, not only was the bed not changed, it wasn't even made. Our wet towels from the morning were still waiting for us. Apart from the carpet, things are old and tired looking with too soft pillows and mattress. The one positive is the grounds are nice and well kept.

The staff was very friendly and kept fish we caught in the fridge for us, The rooms were big but not very cozy. They were quite dark - with only lamps for lighting. The bed wasn't the greatest. And we felt the price was a bit high. We were lucky to have quiet neighbors - but the walls are quite thin. Some rooms had kitchens - but they cost more. Despite all this, it is a good location, it's clean, and it was easy to park.

Stayed for one night mid-week in late June. The grounds and outside of the motel have been updated and are very clean and nice. ie: new paint, gravel, muskoka chairs. Very clean. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The room is clean. However, does need to be updated. We were at the back. Mattress, sheets, pillows and blankets need updating badly. The blanket was old and not warm at all. The AC is the old window (noisy) style. The owner said they are waiting on the supplier to have the carpets replaced (I wore my sandals inside). : /
I would stay here again, but would bring a sleeping bag and my own pillows.
Location is excellent ! You can walk easily into the town of Mindemoya. Loved this town! A great coffee shop, the bakery is awesome (Mom's). An awesome gift shop (Island Home Outfitters), which is across from a huge Foodland and LCBO. A must stop.
