“Really charming hotel, in a charming place”
Reviewed 9 July 2013

Veules les roses is THE perfect place for a romantic short trip. And this hotel (the only hotel of the village) is really good.
it's not luxuous, rooms are simple and clean, very calm.
You can choose rooms with a view on the garden or rooms with a view on the tiny river that crosses the village.
The breakfast is simple, but with good ingredients, and you can have it outside in the garden; We didn't taste the food.

The hotel is in the centre of the village in a very appealing location set around a courtyard with pretty flowers and a small river which runs along the side of the property. Our accommodation was somewhat outdated and consisted of a bedroom, small bathroom and a kitchenette/sitting area. While there was adequate room the sloping ceilings and beams were a little restrictive but charming nevertheless. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the beach and restaurants. Free Wi-Fi is provided and cars must be parked in the street.
The daily rate was expensive for the standard provided although one advantage was the small kitchenette where you could prepare a snack if required. Breakfast was typical for the region but the price was on the high side for the fare provided. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Veules les Roses is a very pretty, relaxing village and well worth a visit if in the region. There are good restaurants nearby where we had two excellent dinners. However, we believe that there must be better hotels for the money in the area.

Lovely romantic hotel in a lovely and colourful Normandy village well worth the visit. Spacious though a tad outdated rooms and suites will make you feel at home, particularly if your room overlooks the wonderful flowery inner courtyard or the little river that runs behind the hotel. As often in France, breakfast is disappointing, but many rooms have a kitchen or kitchenette available – and there’s a baker and convenience stores nearby. Overall a very refreshing, quiet and romantic experience, though a tad on the expensive side.

This hotel is a great place to unwind. It is right in the centre of the village with a small walk down to the beach. A stream with crystal clear water runs behind the hotel and sounds so tranquil when awaking in the morning. The view is one of flowers and creepers etc covering other pretty buildings. There was spaces outside to sit and chill with a glass of wine and listen to the stream running past. The courtyard areas that were dotted around were all very well kept with beautiful plants and flowers very tastefully arranged in typical french style.
Our room had a small cooking area with a hob, kettle sink and other facilities.
Also worth mentioning is the fact that the shower was warm straight away and quite powerful so a great way to wake up.
There was wi-fi but we couldn't get it to connect, maybe a mac problem?
Only complaint was that it was by far the smallest bed we stayed in this holiday so my wife didn't get a great nights sleep.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a decent sized bed!!
