We were first put in the wrong room, we had paid for a room with 'sitting area' (I think deluxe), the room we were given was a standard double room- it had no window and poor ventilation. We slept straight away for a couple of hours after arrival after a busy morning travelling. On waking up it felt very stuffy and uncomfortable, this was with the air conditioning on. At this point realised we checked our booking and realised we had been given wrong room. They moved us to a much bigger better room - yet still not the best place. Located around the pool though which is nice. The Light fitting next to the bed did not work (loose wires), air conditioner unit had dodgy electrics and general shabby decor! Overall it was fine for one night but nothing that special. Would not have enjoyed staying in the standard room for longer than the few hours we were in there! The suite rooms/apartments are ok if you get a decent rate.

Food was good, served next to pool area.
It is close to the airport, so good for a very early flight. It was only a 5 minute drive which the hotel arranged for us.

Room Tip: Do not stay in standard rooms - no windows and bad ventilation!

It's been a good stay at full moon garden and I can't leave without telling others about the spot, I had a nice stay for couple of days, loved the food and the portions, there were couple of dissapiointments at the reception staff handing out rooms without checking them ready for check in but it's all been made up by the rest of the crew, thanks for having us

Great value relative to Negombo or Colombo hotels, nice pool, nice atmosphere and relaxing pool courtyard environment which looks great at night, spacious rooms with kitchen and lounge (super deluxe) with connecting door to twin standard room), ok brekky, 5 mins from airport (but didn't turn up for airport pick up ticked on Agoda). Excellent value.

This was our second stay in the Full Moon Garden Hotel, the previous time was Nov 2011. We arrived very early in the day and were lucky to get into our room without much delay. The standard rooms were being refurbished and so we were upgraded to the larger room with living area and kitchen. It was large, clean. The decor is tired and very very brown and gloomy. However that is really the only negative. The area around the pool is lovely, small pool, sunbeds. A nice restaurant, excellent devilled prawns and very good value. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Its very convenient to the airport but 34km from the city of Colombo.
After travelling around Sri Lanka for several weeks we chose to go to Negumbo to be close to the airport on the other side of the City. I regretted not returning to the Full Moon Garden.

Nice spacious dining and reception area around the pool. Staff are friendly but clueless about hospitality.

Rooms are large but are tired and unloved. You feel like stepping back in time to the 70s. They certainly don't make furniture and TVs like they used to. There were blood marks on the bathroom walls which I guess are from splattered mosquitos.

It's OK for a one night stay because you need to be close to the airport but that's about it.
