We checked in recently last jan.19 2012 due to 18hrs. transit flight. I was so happy to be at asian country and travelled along megambo with my kabayans even thou a lot disapointed due to stop overs by sri lanka airlines to bangkok which we delay that far. I was workin here in
5-star hotel in kuwait thats why during first step a notice of differences in terms of service arise. I will raise this concerns for the sake of this hotel in the future. Starts with, check-in follow ups like wake up call, meal time, guest preference for privacy, housekeeping staff absence etc.. nothing mentioned. 2nd, room amenities specialy totpaste, aircon disfunction, bathroom filthyness like floor stains, rusty water plugs etc.. should have alocate budget for renovation. 3rd, hallway light specially at night seems so scary to walk in the mid of the night. last, provide good car for touring seems they disregard guest status eventhough were foreign workers!. this are main points hope in the future should be provided by the hotel a room for improvement. Somehow we thank the guy who guided us to roam around megambo we definitely had fun! hope this will be read by the management.AYUBOWAN!

Due to a problem with our plane our flight was delayed and we were booked in to the Goodwood Plaza. From the outside it looked really impressive but the inside told a very different tale!!!! The first room we were allocated smelled off damp and mould and this was evident in the damp patches on the wall. The skirting boards were rotten and lizards ran freely around the walls. Mosquitoes were everywhere. The water bottle was obviously used and refilled as the label was missing and the bottle squashed. We asked for another room only to be given one that was even worse. We then demanded to be taken back to the airport as a night in the departure lounge was preferable. We were offered a meal but if that is the state of the bedrooms heaven help the kitchens. Avoid it at all costs

Room Tip: Don't go there

Room was big and comfortable. They have renovated many of the hotel facilities. Efficient, courteous service. Quick room service and good food. Totally enjoyed my one days stay! A great value for money.

other than the close proximity to the airport, there's not a lot of positive things to say about this place. The restaurant staff were friendly, but slow, even for Sri Lanka. And the food is over-priced. The vegetable noodles were just over-cooked instant noodles with sparse slivers of vegetables costing way more than proper meals anywhere else.
The place is very convenient for the airport, but way, way, way over-priced. Unbelievably loud a/c, smelly sheets and mossie nets, broken light switches, dirty rooms, very run down. Different prices for rooms depending on who you talk to. A very disappointing way to end a trip.

I am rating it higher than I might normally to balance all the bad reviews this place is getting. It's not a resort. It's absolutely perfect for people who have an early take-off or very late arrival. This is not a hotel for vacationing although I did use their pool and did have a fine meal in their restaurant. And there's free wifi in the lobby. The big plus is the proximity to the airport and the hotel's own shuttle. Really, people, lighten up! It's just a stopping off place when you don't want to battle the traffic etc for airport access. Yes, the place is a bit dark, but my room was clean and really huge. The staff was very gracious as were all the people of Sri Lanka.

Room Tip: Stay on the ground floor and near the lobby. I needed a flashlight to find my room at the far end.

We had to stay in this place as our plane was cancelled - what a horrible end to the holiday. The only good things were the service- nice friendly staff and free wifi in the lobby, apart from that the place was run down, had dirty sheets, out of date in all aspects and our neighbours had cockroaches. It was also very noisy at night.

We went to the restaurant attached to the hotel and they only had extra strong beer (8.8%!) and many food items out of stock - I don't think they were used to much custom. Food was average.
