“Wedding Weekend”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2014

Went to a family wedding in Wedmore and five of us stayed in this venue from Friday to Sunday morning. We were made most welcome by the lady of the house and shown to the three rooms we had booked. We ate in the restaurant that evening and all of our meals were cooked to our separate requirements and of the of the highest order. The same applies to the breakfast each morning. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The inn is exactly what it says it is .A village Inn. We would stay there again.
Ken

Room Tip: Just ask the owners they are very helpful

Just stayed for 1 night on our way down to Devon.
It's a very old building that would certainly benefit from being spruced up a bit.
The staff were very good and friendly, the food good and a good comfortable bed.
Also good beer and dog friendly.

My wife and I stayed at The Penscot Inn last weekend (6th & 7th June 2014) we must say it was delightful, the staff and locals made us very welcome.

We must say a special thank you to Jamie who works behind the bar, apart from being very efficient he is a very knowledgeable young man, who has a great sense of humour, he is a credit to the Penscot and also his parents, well done Jamie :)

The room we stayed in (Room 16) was a nice room, it is en suite with a shower (by the way the shower head needs / needed fixing but we managed to use it just fine) the room is a tad tired but it has such a comfy bed its amazing!! and my wife and I do not stay in hotel rooms to admire the decor we want what we got great value and a really lovely stay.

The choice of breakfast items is plentiful and the quality is just fine and very enjoyable. We ate there on both nights and the food is just amazing, really tasty and very nice.

All in all we had a great stay at the Penscot, thanks to the staff and locals.

Thanks Penscot Inn

Tony & Rose (South Wales) :)

Room Tip: Our room (16) was fine, also understand Oliver, he is a very helpful and good humoured guy!

Tried to make a booking for 5 people over 1 night, the lady seemed very pleasant and tried to accommodate but unfortunately got past to the man who said it wasn't possible. From his tone and attitude he was far to busy to waste his time with me then proceeded to ridicule me. extremely rude.

Me and my wife stayed here over the recent Bank Holiday weekend. Our room and bathroom were clean. Staff were very helpful, they turned on the heating in our room so it was warm when we checked in - a nice touch considering the weather was cold and wet. Breakfast was delicious - again the gentleman serving us was very attentive. It was a good base to visit many sites in Somerset with Cheddar and Glastonbury particularly close. I'd be happy to return to this place on our next trip to Somerset.

Just got back from a two night stay. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the Chef is a genius!! The inn is conveniently located for all the usual attractions, Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury Tor and Glastonbury. Many walks also surround the area.

The owner was so rude to my friend and me in the morning! When checking in the day before we asked if we could have breakfast early as we had to leave by 8 and breakfast is only served between 8:30 and 9:30 and the owner turn round and said " well you will have to have breakfast somewhere else then won't you!" Bearing in mind we had paid for the room and breakfast!,so the next morning we went down at 7:30 just to see if we could get some food and the owner, rude again, said " well you're early' you got no chance of getting any food". After asking again he agreed to get us some at 8. This place needs updating but worse the ceiling was falling down, bathrooms need replacing, really everything need throwing out and replacing. STEER CLEAR !!!!
