“Marvelous-an enchanting place!”
Reviewed 16 September 2013

The Mustard Seed is an extraordinary place with a warm welcoming staff, beautiful grounds,
incredible decor, and a chef who is very talented.
We began with drinks in front of the fireplace, then moved into the charming dining room for
a dinner so delicious and beautifully presented---including vegetables grown in their own garden. The service was impeccable and friendly. We moved to the library for coffee to end a perfect evening. Breakfast was equally delicious and sumptuous.
Our room was elegantly furnished with antiques and old country furnishings, with floor to ceiling windows, a fireplace and a fabulous view overlooking the front lawn of the property. This is an enchanting place, and we were thrilled and grateful to be introduced to the Mustard Seed by our friends from Dublin.

Stayed there recently had read the reviews and was looking forward to something very special
The welcome from the staff was lovely they were all very friendly
Rooms are somewhat dated need a bit of work no body lotion or conditioner in the bathroom bottles of soap shampoo not working properly
Dinner was beautiful but felt meat was under cooked still stuck to the bone
Why do restaurants persist in expecting people to share vegetables each person should have their own you are charged for each person
Alsi felt rushed at end to have coffee in piano room to make room for someone else in dining
room
No bar have to wait for service for drinks no atmosphere in the place
Breakfast very good but could be better why only a half tomato ?
Drinks very expensive all in all overpriced for what you get

Our year would not be complete without at least one visit to The Mustard Seed.

This year we brought American friends from New York and Cincinnati for dinner and overnight. They were totally enchanted with the whole experience

We received the usual warm welcome from Dan, John and all the staff. They always manage to make everyone feel special.

Our friends agreed that the food was exceptional and their rooms extremely comfortable with a lovely view of the gardens.

Our first impression on visiting, was of the beautiful house surrounded by a very well maintained and interesting garden. We entered the gateway "to get away from it all" and received a very hearty and personal welcome to the Mustard seed.
Our room overlooked the front of house and we slept like logs.
It was a very pleasant experience and our dinner was a total treat.
I would go back just for the scallops, or for the Whiskey porridge at breakfast time . More please!
Staff take a personal interest in your well being and you leave feeling rested and spoiled.
Our first visit will not be our last.

My family and I stayed here in Aug 2013. This is a beautiful property and the staff were incredibly welcoming! We also had dinner at their restaurant- the food is wonderful, as is the entire dining experience- we started with drinks in a sitting room, moved into the dining room for our meal and finished in the piano room with dessert and music from a wonderful piano player. Our host was also very welcoming to our kids (ages 13 and 11) and invited them to come with him to collect fresh eggs for their breakfast from his chicken coop (he quickly ran out and hid a few eggs, so they would have something to find and then helped them bring them back to the house). I highly recommend staying (and eating) here!

Just home from a wonderful stay ,amazing house and outstanding food .Have eaten all over world but the charm and warmth of Dan ,John Edward and all the staff there is amazing .From the moment we arrived every whim was catered for .Refreshing home made biscuits and lemonade were kindly provided as we sat outside soaking up the Limerick sun and enjoying the beautiful countryside .The dining experience is worth the drive alone ,the house and gardens provide wonderful vegetables ,eggs and edible flowers .Dinner of pan fried Kerry scallops ,assiette of spring lamb and best breakfast ever of Kenmare salmon on potato farls.Great experience ,want to go back very soon .Regards Maj and Jo
