What a wonderful and charming hotel.
It si located in a beautiful property surrounded by trees not very far away from Limerick.
Since we arrived we knew that not only the hotel was what we were lookink for a relaxing afternoon but the service would be outstanding and it was!
I had a thai massage which was one of the best I've ever had in all of my trips.
When I finished it, Dan the owner, brought me a cup of herb tea (picked freshly from his orchard)
The diner was superb, everything we ordered was delicious and well presented in a charming atmosphere.
The service everywhere at the hotel is outstanding, you can see that Dan is after every little detail, he picks up flowers from his garden for us to take it to our rooms.
The rooms were very nice, each one is diferent from the other and ours was big and with a great bathroom.
The next day as we said our goodbyes, Dan heard that we were going to see the Moher Cliffs and he gave me a free pass for the whole family to visit....
This small details make a huge a difference in any trip!

Dan and team, thank you for a lovely evening. Great food and superb wine. Stand outs for us were the sorbet, beef sirloin and house beaujolais. Hope to get back to you again sometime soon. lb + blonde :-)

We have been meaning to leave a review since we spent a fab two nights here in January. Dan was an extremely hospitable host, greeting us on our first night with a lovely warm bowl of soup on a windy winters night.

The accommodation was superb (and extra birthday treats much appreciated), the atmosphere all weekend was so relaxing. Dan got the papers for us and we sat by the fire all day chilling and drinking tea.

The food in the restaurant is truly superb. Testament to this was the fact that both hotel and restaurant were fully booked up with a waiting list for for a dreary Saturday night in mid January!

Well worth a stay and we look forward to coming back in the future!

Just back from wedding celebrations in The Mustard Seed and just cannot say enough about the wonderful country house. The rooms are so comfiy and the food is second to none and the breakfast is amazing, homemade warm muffins and the nicest scrambled eggs! The service was faultless and the staff so friendly and nothing was too much trouble......overall very good value for the wonderful service!

The Mustard Seed is a fantastic place to stay for a long and relaxing weekend. We stayed there for three nights (dinner, bed and breakfast) and were very impressed with the warm welcome from Dan and the team. The service throughout the stay was faultless and friendly, and the food was consistently delicious. The room was spacious and cosy and the house itself is charming - well maintained and eclectically decorated, but retaining period features.
Ballingarry is a quiet town but well located. The hotel is a short walk from several pubs, and a short drive from many local sights (we visited Adare, Foynes, Listowel, Ballybunion, Lough Gur and Limerick city).
Whilst not exactly cheap, the price was very good value - I've paid far more for far less.
Highly recommended and we will be back!
