“Lovely family B&B - Great value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 September 2013

Stopped over on a business trip to northern france. JP made us very welcome. We stayed in the Moroccan room - which was lovely. My wife commented on the high quality bed linen. We enjoyed our fleeting visit. You are staying in a family house with JPs family, we thought his was lovely, but may not suit everyone.

We stayed here as an overnight stop on route south to our holiday.
JP & Lucy were so accommodating and friendly and run a warm, friendly traditional French bed and breakfast.
The rooms were exceptionally clean and the views from the house overlooking the lake were just fabulous.
Absolutely highly recommended and we will definitely be booking again.

The location was very convenient for an overnight stop, the village was lovely and we would also like to visit nearby Vitre, having heard JP's recommendations. Couldn't fault the room or the welcome, and very much enjoyed all the home-made jams at breakfast. We look forward to staying again on our next trip.

This was our second visit to La Maison du Triskel, and somewhere we can highly recommend. The welcome from both JP & Lucy is warm and friendly and you are instantly made to feel at home. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated, with comfy beds, and modern clean bathrooms.Best breakfast by far always fresh with a selection of homemade jams.Evening meal is a must if available as JP is an excellent cook and host.

Having spent 11 nights camping in Brittany we decided to have a couple of nights at a chambre d'hote and looked at Vitre as a good destination. We went on to tripadvisor and found this gem of a B&B nearby. We booked 2 bedrooms for 2 nights.

JP and Lucy were excellent hosts, managing the balance of making us feel welcome and allowing us to do our thing perfectly. The couple have 2 very well behaved children and we arrived with our 3 and 4 year old girls who immediately set about utilising all available toys which our hosts graciously saw as no problem.

The house itself is lovely, tastefully decorated throughout, and the rooms we had both had modern bathroom fittings (I gather the full re-furb was only a couple of years ago). Both rooms / beds were very comfortable. Behind the house and gardens is a little beach and lake with a playground attached.

Whilst there is a restaurant in town its opening hours are variable and a safer better is the restaurant in D'Argentere just up the road. There is also a takeaway pizza that delivers and our hosts were happy for us to order in and eat in the lounge. Vitre is a short drive away- a very pleasant, medieval town with a chateau and plenty of amenities and Lucy also pointed us in the direction of a nearby swimming pool which we went to while the weather decided on what it should be doing.

This is the sort of place that in England could pass for a 'boutique' hotel and charge a fortune if JP and Lucy were to completely hand over the house to guests and start to provide the range of services that english 'boutique' hotels provide (given the decor and style), but for the moment it remains the gem that it is, and I wouldn't imagine that they will change this.

For anyone looking for a short break or stopping point in this region I'd recommend Maison Du Triskel wholeheartedly.

We rented 2 rooms for 2 nights here with JP,Lucy and the boys.
Bathrooms lovely clean and a good size.
Irish room on the road side of house, but not bothered by road noise.
Moroccan room on back with lake view.
As they now longer do evening meals, they allowed us to have a picnic tea at the dining room table. They even supplied a lovely fresh green salad straight from their garden and a bottle of wine free!
We could not have asked for a better start to our holiday.
We played with JP's boule and he even told us the rules.
The lake is nice to walk round or just to sit and stare at.
We would highly recommend. Great price free wifi easy to park and lovely people. we will send friends or even come back ourselves....Thanks

This is a really lovely traditional French house and the owners JP & Lucy (and lovely boys) are very warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Our evening meal was simple and delicious. Would definitely stay here again if in that region.
