Simply.... this is a fantastic hotel, and really should be at a rating of 4/5 star! After travelling from Monaco all the way North on our journey home, we viewed Maison Rouge online, and decided to book last minute. We were not to be disapointed, and our expectations are always set pretty high!

Greeted by "Hello Mr Gatt, we were expecting you", followed by being escorted up to our room, we were absolutely blown away by the level of service we were shown.

The rooms were clean, newly refurbished, and of high standard which i am sure you will see by the pictures we have provided.

Unfortunately we did not have the chance to try the in house dining due to our very late arrival, but I will most certainly be returning to sample what smelled like some amazing food.

Thank you for the stay.

In a former mining village not far from Arras and the Somme battlefields. Although the village may not be auspicious, the location makes a great centre for exploring this part of France.
A very, very good 3 star hotel.
The owner and chef welcomed us as we arrived (a bit too early but he made it not a problem). Spotlessly clean of course ... comfortable bed ... modern bedrooms .. just what you would expect from a very good 3 star.
The food was what made it exceptional. We had two very good and much enjoyed meals .. all helped by a good wine list ...
Highly recommended!
(But just watch out for the traffic lights driving though the village of Noeux-les-Mines .. so hard to pick 'em out .. worst I've ever seen .. or nearly not seen!)

Room Tip: Book ahead for dinner (especially on Saturdays) as the restaurant is popular locally and can fills f...

We stayed for one night at this hotel on a trip to visit the Louvre in Lens. It was recommended to us by family who had stayed there before. Usually I tend to go for hotels from larger chains located in major cities, but in this case the recommendation was a very good one.
The hotel is conveniently located for those who want to visit the area around Lens and Arras. The rooms are a good size and the furnishings are modern and up to date. This is not a big luxury hotel so the number of amenities is limited, but it is more than adequate for a short stay.
I saw two major positives. First of all the very friendly and helpful staff. Second, the very good restaurant.
All in all a very good hotel.

The hotel has a very nice location with easy access to motorway A21 and A26. Room is clean, spacious and soundproof. Breakfast is simple but ok, although no fresh orange juice. The air-condition is working fine and can heat up the room rather quickly, except that it would stop in the middle of the night (maybe programmed like this) and would not resume unless with humain intervention. Would be nicer if guests could have water boiler in the room to make tea or coffee. Bathroom's almost flawless.

Room Tip: No comment.

This is an excellent, family run, hotel and restaurant in a plain ex mining village. It is set behind high walls in the very long main street which was a major road before the "auto-route des anglais" bypassed it some years ago. Only 1 hour from the channel it is an ideal stopover for a decent meal and a good night's sleep. We have used it several times in recent years and always been delighted by the experience. It is very popular with business travellers and as a small function venue. Inside the former bourgeois house is completely unrecognisable having been almost completely rebuilt with modern fire precautions and facilities. Excellent breakfast, free wifi, good service.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights. I wasn’t too sure about this one; the reviews looked good but it seemed close to a busy road, which we’re not used to. Although we asked for a room away from the road, we ended up with one facing the road. We were just about to return to reception when we realised we could barely hear any traffic noise – so we remained. We stayed at the end of August when it was very hot – we were glad of the air conditioning in the room.

Indeed, the whole stay was great - better than we expected. The rooms themselves were clean and comfortable, although some of the furniture looked a bit flatpack/MFI-ish. However, it is a three star, and a very good one at that – certainly much better than some we have stayed in. One surprising omission was the absence of tea and coffee making facilities.

The highlight for us though lay in the food. The meals were cooked to perfection, and we enjoyed them thoroughly on both nights. I felt they represented reasonably good value for money at 40Euros, and the wine list was also reasonably priced.

Staff members were highly attentive, although on our second evening meal, we had the feeling we had been forgotten about; we had a wait of 40 minutes before our order was taken. However, after that, everything went well with gaps between courses just about right.

Free wifi is provided in all rooms – much appreciated.

In all, a really excellent stay, and I have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

We picked this hotel because it was located close to Calais on our return from the south and it was reasonably priced. We will return because it is supremely comfortable with an excellent restaurant. The rooms are beautifully appointed with a great bathroom and very comfortable beds. The staff are friendly and helpful and the price is reasonable. The only point of improvement we could suggest would be tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
