Most places don't look as good as their website photos-- Le Querce di Cota looks better (and the photos don't look bad at all!). The setting is stunning, with Etna center stage, and the rolling hills of central Sicily surrounding you. Our room was large, clean, and had a nice porch with that Etna view. It is an idyllic spot, with terrific service, delicious food, and caring staff. We didn't want to leave.

A wonderful experience; thank you Concetta and her lovely daughter Juditta for taking care of us in July 2013. We arrived from Taormina, wondering what we would find amongst the fields under Troina; Le Querce di Cota is an Oasis; lovely rooms, best swimming pool (better than very expensice hotels in Sicily!) and fabulous food. But mostly we were so well cared for, thank you! Roy & linda

My wife & i were touring the eastern side of Sicily the last two weeks of May & of the Agriturismos we stayed at this one was the best all round. Fairly remote but an attractive hilly setting with a row of giant wind turbines on the horizon. Tastefully restored stone buildings with much character & a comfortable & well appointed room. The breakfasts simple but sufficient. Dinners were of a very good standard cooked by Concetta, the owner & aided by Daniele also Selvo served & generally assisted - he also speaks some english. Concetta speaks a little english but as our italian is very weak we ended up conversing in french. She is the most charming & helpful of hosts - nothing was too much trouble. I would strongly recommend dining in as the alternative is a very winding drive up to Troina which is a real fag particularly after dark. Negatives - well really none.

I am very remiss in not writing this review sooner, but life has a way of twisting back upon itself with distractions.

In September 2010, my husband and I traveled with my 82 year old mother to Sicily to see the mountain town where her mother was born: Cerami. I became ill on the plane over to Rome, then Catania. When we arrived at Le Querce di Cota, Conchetta and her husband showed me great warmth, care and compassion, settled me into my room very quickly, and prepared a light, lemony beverage that I am convinced healed and resurrected me. I was well enough after a few hours rest to enjoy the wonderful dinner Conchetta prepared. If you stay at this divine agroturismo, eat dinner here too. You will find no better food in the mountains from this marvelous inn keeper and gourmet chef.

This agroturismo is also not far from both Troina and Cerami, two small towns teeming with history, and well worth exploring. If you are lucky enough to have family in these towns, Le Querce di Cota is a good base from which to coordinate visits.

Sitting and relaxing on the balcony of our room after a long day, we could catch glimpses of Mt. Etna and Troina. And at night, without the bane of light pollution, we delighted in the sea of stars of the Milky Way.

Le Querce di Cota. The finest. If travel to Sicily, you must go there.

Near the little village of Troina, in the Nebrodi mountains region, this agriturismo was just the perfect little gem who left us great everlasting impressions. First of all thanks to the kindness of Concetta, the owner of the place who studied agronomy and runs the place and the farm with only biological products. The place is wonderful, an old restored village in stones which creates a beautiful hazienda. The rooms have style. We were the only ones there so we could choose our room and picked one with a lovely balcony with an unique view on the smoking Etna, the olive trees and the beautiful hills. Most of all, the diners there were just unbelievable (and far too much): everything is homemade from the products of the farm - 1 > First, antipastis with fresh ricotta, marinated mushrooms, bruschette, meat balls, specialties from the mountains... - 2 > Then, homemade pasta, pesto with pistacchio and almonds... - 3 > Then secundo ! Ham with aubergines, cheese, raisins, garlic. // or Farm chicken with great mediterranean vegetables... 4 > homemade ice-cream or fruits... Well, it was the greatest food ever and we had difficluty to find any restaurant interesting afterwards. The atmosphere was really unique and interesting with whole family (grandparents, children, little kittens...) living there. The little villages around are not much touristic but really interesting, try Sperlinga and Troina... That's where the photographer Robert Capa took one of his most famous pictures. Our favorite stay in Sicily !
New: there is a huge swimming pool near the house (it can get real hot in the summer afternoons).
