Stayed here for a recent wedding. The wedding was great, and was great to see family, many had travelled far, the service and rooms were lovely. The staff were professional, and the whole hotel was beautiful, clean, and tidy. The grounds were lovely, just wish we had more time, to explore it. The only down side was it was soooo hot!! That's not a bad thing, as I hate being cold, but it was very hot, and for April, its not what you expect, We slept with the window open all night. The function room, had the radiator up full blast whilst the air con was on!

Room Tip: Speaking to other family members, some rooms had bigger baths, and some had standard baths, So I wou...

We stayed here as an extended family for a few nights due to a family funeral in Lincoln. The staff could not have been more helpful and accomodating. The bar, resturant food and service was very good. It is an amazing building set in beautiful grounds. The rooms are okay, the bed was far too soft and the decorations a little tired and too old fashioned for my taste but the style is in keeping with the building. Loads of hot water. The building is warm, very warm. I didn't use the pool but my neice and nephew loved it.

We returned to this lovely hotel and find that its standards have still been maintained. The hotel is set in nice grounds. The hotel has an ambience with its oak panels and warming surrounds. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast,if this is not your needs there is a choice from the breakfast menu. All staff were welcoming and service was good.We used the hotel as a base as our family lived nearby.Due to previous stays we were aware of external noise of fans and our original room was in close proximity of these fans,we were given another room that was quieter. The hotel is minutes away from Lincoln City, and an ideal base.

Room Tip: Rooms 212,213,214 are overlooking the fans, they are lovely rooms, but not for light sleepers.

We had a reasonably enjoyable Monday lunch in the hotel's restaurant.

The starters and desserts were all delightful - interesting, tasty and very nicely presented. Our main courses were entirely different - quite pedestrian in concept and decidedly average in execution and presentation - clearly prepared by a very different class of chef.

The ambience of the public rooms felt quite dated, almost down-at-heel faded grandeur, and this wasn't helped by the three of us being seated at a table which would accommodate many more. Somehow we felt unsettled. That we met so may different waiting staff during our meal, despite there being only a very few other guests, was also quite bizarre.

However, the cost was a surprisingly modest £20 for 3 courses, but we did leave not quite knowing what to make of this rather odd experience.

My partner booked us into the Simpsons Spa at Branston Hall for a birthday treat. We booked the rasul mud temple, a couples massage and got to use the hot tub pre treatments. Treatments were all amazing. We was at the spa for around 4 hrs. We booked a twilight experience but the spa honoured it during the day for us which was fab as we have children and struggle with evening babysitters. The staff were lovely. This is the 3rd I've been to the spa in the last 2 months so highly recommend it.

I've just returned from a lovely time partaking in Afternoon Tea. Staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The food was ample and really tasty and served in lovely relaxing surroundings. We were not at all rushed and had a very enjoyable time. Thankyou.

My partner booked us in here for a night as a getaway birthday treat. The first thing I must comment on is the staff. Every single one we met was excellent and more than competent in their job. They were all friendly and nothing appeared too much trouble for any of them. Thank you all for that. The food was excellent and, unusually for me, I was too full to partake in dessert! The building itself is well maintained and has a fantastic charm and character. The pool, sauna and hot tub area is very clean and well maintained too. Our room (216) was very airy and had great views over the water. We had a lovely relaxing afternoon in the lounge and on the terrace drinking a beautiful prossecco and reading. The only point I could make, and it is just a pointer not a complaint , is that for our evening meal our table was against a radiator and we were actually too hot, maybe move the tables slightly away from the radiators? or turn them down more? As I say that is just a thought for the management and in no way a complaint, others may actually welcome the heat.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms over looking the water.

Dear reviewer,

Many thanks for taking the time to post your review and for the fabulous 5 star rating. We appreciate all feedback, and of course it is more pleasing to read when our guests have had an enjoyable stay! We have noted your comment about the radiators in the restaurant, the weather turned milder quite quick (or at least it did!) so this will have had an affect on the day.
As a thankyou and in the hope we might see you for a return visit, we would like to offer you a 15% discount off any future stay. Simply call the hotel direct and quote your TA pseudonym to benefit from this offer.
