We were not very lucky with the timing of our stay at this hotel as there were some construction works going on at the time and the noise was incredibly loud due to the location of our room. We asked to be moved and hotel manager agreed to do that without any problems.
On a whole, very good experience. Staff is friendy, food is very good and catered to all tastes. Nice outdoor pool with a good view. Didn't use the fitness club due to the weather. Neither we used the spa as you can get a pretty good massage on a beach for half the price the hotel charges.

Good value for money.

we have just returned from a fantastic time at ao nang, the hotel was spotless, breakfast was am enormous spread of all manner of food , coupled with great view of the sea made for a great start to each day. staff were very attentive wihout being in the way at all. there was a dvd in the room which came in handy as we bought a couple of pirate movies from a sea front shop for £2 a piece. no complaints whatsoever, the resort is great, unless it rains all the time you will be hard pushed not to have the time of your life here, we only had 9 days and theres so much to see and do , we needed at least another week! the four island boat trip is great value, the boat trip to maya bay i, where they filmed THE BEACH, is good value, but dont go expecting many photo oppurtunities as its chockablock with speedboats and hundreds of day trippers. we also went on a rock climbing course and sea kayaking, which were both excellent

The Hotel is very very conveniently located! Location is perhaps one of the biggest pros of staying at this hotel. Right below the hotel is a 24-hour Mc Donalds, with Swensens and Subway down the street. But if you are looking for some authentic local fare, there are plenty of eateries to choose from as well. We tried Thailandia, which was par excellence! If you feel like some spicy Indian food, there's a host of Indian restaurants to choose from, especially food at Tandoori Nights is freshly cooked and yummy! There are also plenty of continental and seafood joints to choose from. Just a 5-minute walk from the hotel, there are hosts of pubs down an alley, but the distance is just right so that the main strip on which the hotel is located is not at all sleazy.

There are also rows of souvenior shops selling everything from trinkets, keyrings, magnets, paintings, etc right on the same strip. The beach is just a 5-minute walk and it's well worth strolling down the strip in the evening and stopping on the beach to enjoy the glorious sunset. Then you can round it off nicely by having wine and seafood right above the crashing waves at the seafood restaurants located right on the beach. Yes, it's a little touristy but far less touristy, commercialised and sleazy as compared to Patong Beach, Phuket.

We had the Deluxe rooms on the first floor and they were huge and very very modern and clean. My favourite was the shower that simply made rain everytime I took a bath! The floors are completely wood panelled, was well-lit and very comfortable. The AC was quiet and effective and there were even beach slippers provided for us. It was a pleasurable stay and I highly recommend!

The hotel advertised itself as a 4 star but it is in any case a 3.5 star maximum. We booked through a homepage and the room turned out to be completely different from the picture. Moreover, it was not clean. There were stains here and there (esp. on the curtains). The room smelled old and wet. The hotel itself is right next to a buzzing street (and not particularly a good one. There are better hotels with the same price elsewhere). The view they promise does not match at all. The road in front of the hotel is noisy and way too touristic. It feels like you're staying at a guesthouse (with a charge of a 4-stars).

I am a Thai myself but have never experienced such a horrible service in my life. We contacted the manager regarding the problems and he did not response to any of them. He was rude and simply went off to have his dinner (which is unbelievable). We tried to ask for a solution (to give us the room they advertised for or give us a refund) and the manager refused to do anything and there was no apology (quoted: 'it's not my problem'). We could not stand the treatment and left the hotel.

Also, this hotel charges you much more than it is actually worth. It is a self-proclaimed 4 star. However, nothing matches that standard. I traveled a lot in Thailand and abroad and this place is a real ripoff. They can do this since most foreigners do not know the market price here. They pretend to give you a big discount but the quality of the place does not justify. There are many other hotel in Krabi where they will charge you about 50% less for what you get at this hotel. Or if you pay just slightly more, you can get a real deal (5 stars/luxurious hotels). DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL.

As the name suggests, this resort is situated on the higher grounds of Krabi, where you can oversee the cliff beach when you are dining in their restaurant in the morning.

When I was there, there were only about 22 guests and the staffs were all very friendly and welcoming.

I particularly liked their swimming pool, it's so beautiful and clean! The other facilities and rooms were pretty new/clean as well, which makes the whole stay very pleasant. Our room also had a small mini bathtub and chair outside on the balcony. A bonus that the view is beautiful too.

Morning breakfast spread was reasonable and nice, although I preferred the food along the Krabi streets!

I guess my only complaint is that the room I had was facing a forest and there were all many creepy crawlies that came to visit the room / outside the room, though we were not bitten but it's just a tad irritating. We paid $6 for 4 days worth of Wi-Fi which was quite a steal, but the unstable wireless network makes it less attractive.

All in all, I will definitely go back again on my next trip.

Room Tip: Higher floors are quieter and have a nicer view.

While taking a few days relaxation in Krabi, Thailand we stayed at two different hotels and without doubt, Aonang Cliff Beach Resort was the best by far and excellent value for money. The hotel is in excellent condition, the staff helpful and friendly and the location is central to all the bars, restaurants, entertainment and 5 minute walk from the beach. Certainly the place to stay in Aonang.

Room Tip: We had a nice room but the view was not very good. We requested to see several other rooms and they...
