This place has obviously attributed its star rating to itself. There is little to no elements of luxury to warrant a star rating of its level. While it is a new property it is far from being a luxury resort. For example, the restaurant interior looks and feels like a cafeteria. Totally void of any ambiance and decor. Utterly uninviting. Also, there are not enough pool umbrellas for the dozen loungers and the umbrella stands have heavy cement bases that are very hard to maneuver. There just are no special touches to be seen or experienced. Maybe they should add a cabana or two by the pool. Modern rooms, but blase everything else... including the level of service. The staff are friendly and warm, but are not service driven. The hotel is not guest driven as the staff never initiate service and they do not approach guests to provide service nor do they go out of their way for you. There are much better places in the center of Ao Nang that provide a remote setting with hillside or water views like Phu Petra, but with far more elements towards luxury. TA should drop the star rating to at least 3 stars. I think those who have given this place top marks are being overly generous. Keep looking at other accommodations.

We are here at Phu Petra and enjoying every minute. I am happy to answer any details you may want.
It is a quiet and secluded place about 10 minutes taxi ride to the Aonang beach.
Good points are: 1) Very quite and secluded 2) Excellent service 3) Villa is amazing, very big and very comfortable, for four adults in our family, a two bedroom villa is what we wanted and got it only in this place 4) For the internet geeks
Wifi works well( free), you can have your laptop next to you by the swimming pool.5) No crowds, swimming pool is free and so are the sun loungers
Not so good points are 1) Limited food options esp if you are a vegetarian 2)Limited return options to the hotel, if you want to use hotel shuttle 3) Small place, so if youre looking for hustle and bustle of a big place this isnt your cup of tea.
All in all highly recommended for a quiet but very relaxing stay.

Was a little concern about the hotel because for one, it was new and it didn't really have that many pictures of it. Nonetheless, took a chance and, please let me tell you that it was a wonderful experience!
Some of the comments were right about it being a little secluded but if you do really want to get out of the congestion and noise of the Aonang town, than this would be the best place to be. It's not really that far away from the beach as well and there is a regular shuttle taking you over to the beach. Its about 5 min away only. If you do decide to not take the shuttle schedule, than it would only cost you a mere 50 THB per person to take a taxi to and from your hotel to the beach.
The rooms were simply fabulous! it does really look like the pictures (my pictures attached) and the rooms were huge!! It definitely had a very pleasent and wonderful feeling. The bathroom looked like you could slot in another bed in there...:)
The staff was very nice and hospitable. They were always going out of the way to help us when we ever needed anything.
But like any other hotels, there is still some minor drawbacks that I think would need improvements:
1) The Internet connection was not very pleasent. It took me a while to get on it.
2) Being close to a 5 star hotel, the buffet selection could be better. A little lack of variety

But nonetheless, given the opportunity to stay at this place once again if I ever visit Krabi, I would not hessitate to do so. It was really a bargain for a wonderful villa for the price we got it for.
