“some good, some average”
Reviewed 23 March 2010

The serv ice was slow and it wasn't even that busy, nice location along Ao Nang seafood promenade (the pedestrian zone).

Starter was antipasti selections, good prosciutto but a couple of poor bruschettas spoilt it. Hoise wine was poor (white).

Pasta mains were extremely good. I had a simple bolonaise and the lady had a fantastic spaghetti vongole.

Overall: we'd go again but with more patience and we'd just order mains - pasta

“Thai seafood extravaganza”
Reviewed 17 January 2010

Make sure you get a seat as close as possible to the water and look forward to a massive treat in thai seafood. We went here several times and was never disappointed. The deep-fried prawns are unbelievable... We didn't try the Italian, but what's the point anyway? You're in Thailand:)

“Dissapointing...”
Reviewed 14 August 2009

Well folks, this is the first time you have let me down. Being first on the recommended restaurants in this area, I was prepared for some good food. I was underwhelmed to say the least. My sister and I visited tonight and ordered from the Italian side of the menu, two Salada di Caprese and two calzones. Granted, it was nothing special but good food doesn't have to be fancy to be good. The food here was mediocre and didn't deserve the #1 rating it got. While we were waiting for our shuttle back to the resort, we stopped by Blue Mango and were much more impressed with the atmosphere and the drinks we ordered. After 9pm, it was happy hour and we got one free drink with the purchase of one. Very good and reasonably priced. What we could see of other patron's food was appatising and done well. We were sorry we skipped Blue Mango to visit Lo Spuntino. My recommendation is that should you visit Krabi, save yourself the dissapointment and visit someplace else.

“Good food”
Reviewed 31 July 2009

Lovely place, wonderful authentic Thai food, not the tourist rubbish you can and great sized portions. The pizza was authentic Italian, thin crispy and fresh.... decent service and a great location on the water.... definitely one of the best places in Krabi.

“Catch of the day…”
Reviewed 31 July 2009

Sala Bua and Lo Spuntino are not really two restaurants, but one with two different menus: Thai and Italian. Located in a strip road at hthe far end of Ao Nang beach called Soi Seafood, this is the perfect place for a romantic evening out being lulled by the sound of the waves (you are literally above the beach) while enjoying a meat carpaccio or a massaman curry, washing them out with a fine wine. It is a great place for pastas and pizzas, of course, and a must for those keen on fresh seafood, that you can pick straight from the fish basket. Do not miss it!
