We stayed for one night before taking a ferry to koh lanta the following day.

The resort is set in between a few cliffs, set back from the main town. A free shuttle runs every hour to drop people into town and run them back. The resort is a lot cooler than beach area which is refreshing. The pool was in the shade at 4pm which was great for cooling off. The pool was clean, a few sunbeds and umbrellas. There is a bit of a farm vibe going on, a little flock of sheep run passed our cabin, loads of chickens doing the rounds too.

We had the basic bungalow with fan which suited us well. Comfortable bed, towels and toiletries, drinking water. There were a few gaps between doors so a few midges got in but after spraying some deet we weren't bitten. I wish more in the sense of bedding had been provided. The bed is two single beds pushed together but the bed spread is a double. It doesn't quite fit and I woke freezing in the night! The temperature really dropped at night.
There are a few plumbing issues, but that's to be expected with the set up. The toilet is slow to drain and the pressure drops on the shower. There is a 7-11 in town to pick up supplies to bring back.

The cabins aren't sound proofed at all. The jungle wildlife noises are fine but when your neighbour makes a few phone calls at 5am that's just really rude. Go to reception where people aren't sleeping!

We ate at the restaurant on site. It was reasonably priced. 300 baht for meal for two with drinks. Good sized portions too.

All the staff are very attentive. Many more or less fluent in English. A young girl cheffing at the restaurant was learning English from the waitress whilst serving.

I wish we could have stayed longer. I would definitely have requested extra bedding though!

Stayed here for 3 nights, must stay, it was the best thing which happened to us in Krabi. A great spacious resorts with well separated cozy and self sufficient huts. We stayed in a deluxe hut and needless to say, we enjoyed each n every moment there. Be it getting up in the morning listening to birds chirping, having a great breakfast or clicking awesome pics in and around the area. The shuttle to beach is helpful, though those who wish to explore further can take a motorbike on rent. Krabi, being a small town unlike bangkok, is safe to drive. The staff and the resort was courteous and always smiling. Would definitely recommend this to every one.

We stayed here this week as a couple for 4 nights with some family. There were 6 of us in total and we all love the secluded, unspoiled setting of the resort. Here are some pro's and con's...

-Stunning setting, especially at the restaurant and by the pool.
-Great fun for kids with plenty of cockerels, macaques, peacocks, rabbits, sheep and turtles to keep them entertained.
-Simple but elegant and functional rooms - the villa with pool view is great!
-The free hourly shuttle bus to Ao Nang town is a nice touch and the driver is friendly.
-The massage service is good albeit a touch expensive by local standards.
-Nice breakfast spread.

-Some confusion regarding our booking left a sour taste in our mouths initially.
-The hotel should provide a mat for each sunbed.
-The pool decking and sunbeds quickly get extremely hot...I'm not sure if there's an easy solution.
-No coconut juice on the menu and only fritter for dessert!
-The restaurant staff don't speak English well and should be more smiley and welcoming.
-The wifi signalis sporadic although there are also desktop computers available opposite reception.

Thoroughly recommended overall for the reasonable room prices, nice breakfast and, above all else, truly memorable scenery.

I would definitely stay here again. No hesitation.

It is as pretty as it looks in the pictures -- your money gets you a small wooden cabin with an en suite, right up against the massive limestone cliffs that define Ao Nang. Surroundings are well groomed, but they're going for a sort of "wilderness garden" vibe which you may or may not be into. On this note, there are cats, chickens, turkeys and a couple of peacocks roaming around. This is either a good or bad thing depending on how you feel about wildlife!

Speaking of the animals, I did find they made some noise at night. Not a lot of noise, but if you're a light sleeper this could be a problem, particularly as the basic rooms have basically no sound proofing at all. There is also a Muay Thai gym about 100m away -- morning training is loud and enthusiastic, so a lie in is difficult. There are slightly fancier rooms available (the ones with aircon) -- we didn't stay in one of these so I can't comment. Might be quieter though.

I did see one case of a small girl losing her spaghetti (from the hotel restaurant) to a macaque monkey. While I guess there isn't much the hotel management can do about this, you need to be careful when dealing with these animals as encounters can turn nasty. When in doubt, let the monkey take your food. You can always order more.

A free shuttle bus to and from the beach is provided every hour. This is a nice touch, as the hotel is otherwise a bit remote. I did see a few people walking into town, but I imagine it took them upwards of 20 minutes to do so. We rented a motorbike (250 baht per day via hotel reception, passport left as deposit) so if you're comfortable doing this, it's a great option. Traffic in Ao Nang isn't as bad as Phuket (for example), but wear helmets and be super cautious.

Other than that, the breakfasts (buffet, provided free) were quite good. The hotel could use a little more seating space, and the staff are too slow replenishing the food at peak traffic. They also don't replenish the vegetable noodles at all for some reason, so definitely get to breakfast early, especially if you're a vegetarian. For the rest of the day the restaurant serves up some pretty good Thai fare at a decent price.

We enjoyed our time here, and as I said up front: we'd stay again.

Room Tip: Definitely for nature lovers. Could be too rustic for some, but don't be put off by location. We...

We spent two nights in this resort and were surprised by its idyllic character. The bungalows were fine and clean even though you could tell that they were a little older. The bathrooms could need some renovations. During the evening time noises came from the neighboring properties (not the fault of the hotel). The staff was very obliging and helped us with organizing the airport transfer. The breakfast was fine with fresh omelets and fruits - great for vegetarians. Every hour a shuttle service leaves for the city center and you can tell the driver where to drop you off. We can only recommend this close-to-nature resort - excellent value for money.

Don't be deceived by the nicely shopped pictures, the reality is far more rustic and rural and lacking any form of charm. The exquisite looking pool is a little bigger than a bath tub and about the only thing that slightly affects the animal farm atmosphere. In short:

- If you like to stay at a run down animal farm in the middle of back and beyond, this is the place for you to stay,
- If you like dirty linens, shabby towels and run down rooms in the middle of the bush, this is the place for you.
- If you like your holiday camp to be miles away from human civilization and don't care much for personal service or customer care, this is the place for you.
- If you like to be trapped between two cliffs without the sea or sun being in close reach, this is the place for you.
- If you like to run the risk at night to be lost on a dark and lonely country lane, after having struggled up the hideous tourist tracks of Ao Nang town, this is the place for you.

It was not the place for us and left after two hours (1 of which we were waiting for the taxi to arrive) - it was not a place for us.

The booking policy clearly is a trap to ensure that the place survives, as we paid dearly for a non-stay.

Spent 5 days at the cliff view early january. I think you could call it a marmite hotel......you either love it or hate it and we LOVED it.
The rooms are detached bungalows on stilts on a jungle setting approx 10 mins taxi from town.
Don't let any first impressions put you off especially if you arrive at night after a long journey.....the place is beautiful.
Staff are very friendly especially Maem on reception who was so patient answering all the questions I could ask.
The restaurant is like a tree house and serves great Thai curries at a cheap price.
Breakfast was fine.....cannot understand the negative comments...this is a 3 star hotel??
Comprised fresh fruit, yoghurt, pastries, toast and fresh eggs cooked there and then,,,,staff there also nice.
The pool area is lovely with fantastic scenery but be prepared to see monkeys coming down to say hello......big tip if you take food to the pool area themonkeys will spot it and grab it which was extremely funny seeing these panicking people having thier crisps nicked!!
Bathrooms are open plan and and can get wet, shower fine, nice hot water.
The gym is a waste of time with old equipment not worth a visit.
Our room had a/c, would recommend this if you find it difficult sleeping in heat.
Restaurant at bottom of road, soi 11, really good food at reasonable prices, nice lunches also.
We stayed 5 nights which was long enough but would not hesitate to return and would recommend this hotel to anyone.
