The service at Mercure Krabi was top notch! My other half and myself had a wonderful and pleasant stay at Krabi. The hotel personnel helped me with special arrangements to celebrate a special day during my stay. Kudos to the Mercure team!

Pros: Nice hotel room, clean and modern, if you want peace and quiet I suggest staying in a block that is at the far end as the pool is always busy and filled with children.

Cons: The rest of the hotel wasn't maintained as well as I had expected. The hotel is infested with lizards and insects (even some cockroaches) which we had pointed out on various occasions however the staff did not seem bothered at all. On arrival we found a large cockroach on the floor in the centre of the lobby and the staff had no intention of removing until I made it clear that it bothered me, we later found that during the night we would walk through the hotel and find a countless amount of lizards around the walls, it was not a pleasant sight. The hotel also needs to recruit some staff that speak adequate English. We tried to communicate with the staff several times and none seemed to be able to respond to any of our queries, instead they nodded and giggled as they had no idea what we were asking them.

We booked this hotel as it had been listed one of the top 5 hotels in Krabi. We read some mixed reviews about the hotel and thought we would take a chance but I expect a lot more from a Mercure hotel! I think in the future I will give this hotel a miss.

We stayed here quite some time ago.

We liked the room, the spa, the cafe, and the restaurant. The location was somewhat remote but still manageable and a tuk tuk ride away from most attractions.

When we left, we were charged for using the laundry bag, it was simple cotton bag and we have never experienced this anywhere else. That was probably the only negative to the trip.

In the same time, we are sorry regarding the chargeable laundry cotton bag. Actually, using only is not chargeable unless the guest take away or bring back home. It is recycle item as we try to save the environment, not to use plastic bag that normally there is no charge anyhow.

We took 3 flights in a row and finally arrived at this hotel. Upon arrival we were welcomed, sat down in the rather impressive lobby with a refreshing drink and checked-in while we relaxed - perfect. We had a nice room overlooking the pool at the far end it was peaceful and quiet. The pool was really good and you could have spent the holiday there if it wasn't for the fantastic beaches nearby. We have read some reviews saying that this hotel is far away from the beach. Well its not true its a 5 to 10 min walk, that's all.

Room Tip: Ask for a block near the end of the pool

For a relatively pricey hotel, the location was not too bad about 15/20 min walk from where we would like to be.
However, the lizards covered the hotel, all along the corridor and lobby and restaurant we would spot a number of lizards. On average from entrance to our room I'd say on a normal evening probably expect to count 15 lizards, and the staff did not seem too concerened.
On arrival saw a cocroach which was ignored and left to walk the middle of the lobby, not what I expect, with no bell boy to help with luggage.
English speaking staff are very limited, expect a nod with a yes and a smile to 99% of questions you ask, or any conversation.

The plus side was that the room itself was decent and clean, and the pool (never lit up during evenings as pictures suggest) was OK at best.

Would not recommend this hotel.

Stayed on 29/7/14 to 1/8/14. Really nice to have a sit down check with a welcome drink instead of normal check in. Resort lay out is pleasant and nicely decorated with different elements. However, our room was quite a distance from reception area. Pool is awesome.
Service shortfall was when we asked if our sent items were kept with reception, they claimed nothing. We had to make our way back to the shop just to be assure whether they had sent it to our Hotel. Clearly, they had sent it the night before. They had to call the reception to clarify the matter.

In-line with some other reviews, when booking this hotel you should keep in mind that this hotel is extremely noisy from 6:00am to 11:00pm. If it's not kids yelling in the pool - it's there parents or the 4-5 bus loads of tourist who arrive at around 8-9:00pm and then have nothing else to do then jumping in the pool and shouting ... This is all due to the strange layout of the hotel having the pool directly surrounded by all the rooms and there is no escape from the noise, as you will not find any quite corner. The management doesn't seem to care however and the hotel is standard Mercure but nothing remotely resembles of any Thai architectural features. So if you have kids and usually shout at them all day but are looking for a clean hotel, this might be the place to go. All other travelers, i wouldn't recommend to stay here ....
