Overall, a very average experience, given the price that this hotel charges. The location is very convenient - plenty of food, drinks and transport options nearby.

Firstly, they put us in a room with a bath-tub in the middle of it! The shower space did not even have a door, but only a curtain - the perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes. Upon much requests, they moved us to a better room (with bathroom doors). But, still the mosquitoes were everywhere. As the sun set, the place became a pain. We had to apply repellents every few hours to preserve our sanity!

Upon checking out, we were told that the bed-sheet in our room had some color stains on them. We had seen that when we had moved into the room, but did not complain as it was a minor issue. But, now the hotel staff told us that we had soiled the sheets! C'mon, no body goes to a hotel room to paint bedsheets!

I am 100% sure that there are better places to stay in Ao Nang.

Room was small but clean, the bathtub was right beside the bed, it's not IN the bathroom, but IN the bedroom. But we're honeymooners, so it was all good. You can watch tv while you soak in the tub.

Bathroom was really small though, you can hear other guests talking.

Bed was comfortable.

The pool was small, but I liked it, very cosy during the low season.

I liked the breakfast too.

Nothing bad about this hotel that I didn't like. It was located at the end of the street. I like the peacefulness there.

We stayed at this resort for 4 nights during January 2011. We were very disappointed with the place. We knew from the reviews on here that it wasn't going to be sleek and modern. We thought it would be quaint and like a Thai style type of building. It was very shabby and other resorts nearby are much nicer.

When we arrived late in the afternoon, the room wasn't ready and we had bed configuration issues. The teenage kids shared a king bed (which didn't thrill them) and a daybed as the third. We had two singles pushed together in the room next door. All the beds were rock hard. The air conditioning and electricity didn't work all the time in one of the rooms.

Our rooms were on the road side of the building and it was very noisy with longboats working all night and a car with a loud speaker making announcements about shows blasting.

On a positive note, the gardens are lovely. The view out the front is great and the location is handy. The staff are pleasant also. We had free Wifi while we were there but I think that is about to change and you may need to pay in the future.

Phra Nang Inn is in a prime location in Ao Nang, Krabi. It's literally a few metres away from the beach and its also located on the main strip of Ao Nang.

Despite booking online the morning before the hotel receptionist couldn't find our booking - yes it was last minute but they should still have had our booking - then there was a kaffufle over the beds and the first receptionist absolutely refused to push two twin beds together to make a double. Finally a second receptionist stepped in and said it would be fine to push the beds together. After all that we were finally allowed to check in. Our room was located on the ground floor, a 10 second walk away from the reception desk - not the best but we did book last minute. The room itself was odd. The bed is in the middle of the room with storage and mini fridge behind the headboard. Behind this is a shower and a toilet and sink. In front of the bed is a rather large sofa, tv and bath tub. The room also had a small balcony but our view was of a wall. The layout of the room was interesting and would have worked had it have been in a larger room, alas it just felt cramped. Also the room could do with a bit of a scrub, the tiles on the floor were marked from years of wear and tear and the walls really needed a lick of paint.

The hotel actually has two pools - a smaller pool, not a kiddy pool, just a smaller poo and then a larger, long pool with a kiddy pool and jacuzzi area. The larger pool is surrounded by rooms which I managed to have a sneaky peak through the windows all had the similar and rather puzzling layout. The restaurant where the rather decent breakfast buffet is offered is at the beachfront side of the hotel and the hotel bar is opposite this. Other facilities include a internet room with 3 computers but the rooms did seem to have wifi.

The surrounding area is great - there's plenty of bars and restaurants and shops but it doesn't have the same Tenerife party atmosphere as Phi Phi Island does, it's more family orientated - so don't expect any crazy raves but don't expect a quiet and relaxing getaway. Ao Nang beach is good, not amazing but good and there's plenty of long boats to take you off on excursions.

The one massive issue with the hotel was the crazy amount of mosquitos that managed to get into the room. We hadn't had a problem with mosquitoes in any of the hotels we'd stayed in while travelling so this was quite unexpected. Our days consisted of mosquito hunts which would have to be done first thing in the morning, after the maid had been and last thing at night. Also - unfortunately we both got a stomach bug (not from the hotel!) and were bed ridden for a couple of days, the hotel's cable only has 2 English channels - BBC news and the Australia Network...

If the rooms were improved and the staff retrained I probably would stay here again as the location and the pool is fantastic - but saying that there's plenty more hotels next door!

The rooms are clean, breakfast is good and the location is awesome. Staff was very friendly. Internet service at the computer was for free, for WiFi you have to pay extra.
We thought the pool was more or less decoration only, it looks nice but we didn’t use it that much.
The room prices are pretty high for what they offered, but I guess that’s because it’s Ao Nang.
