We had an awful experience here. We had booked for 7 nights but checked out after one. Then we were forced to pay an additional night because of the early check out. The huts were very old and in very poor condition with a "lean to" bathroom attached at the back. The stairs up to the Hut were in terrible condition and awaiting an accident!!! For 3,000 Bhat/night this is not at all what was expected. Breakfast was bad. The egg station had old frizzled fried eggs sitting in a warming pan and a solitary omelette still sitting in a fry pan. Nobody on duty to make freshly cooked eggs. There was a huge ant trail leading to the fresh fruits.. Tea and coffee was self service despite the presence of numerous disinterested staff milling around. The Huts are built on the side of a hill under the trees so no sun ever gets through. The mosquitoes are quite ravenous!!! There is of course a courtesy Golf Cart to transport you to and from the main buildings but this is not a convenient way to get around. We asked to be moved to another room on ground level near the main building but there were none available so we were left with no option but to checkout. When they then insisted we pay an additional night - despite Booking.Com having a clause in their booking form stating the charge for no show or alteration to a booking was one night's charge - that was a very unsatisfactory end to a very bad experience. Having thought they had done all they could to ruin my stay the reception staff then ignored me when I asked would they call me a taxi to move to another hotel. Thoroughly bad experience, and will never be repeated. I would advise anyone contemplating staying here to think again.

Room Tip: Do not do it!!!!!!! At least don't take a Bungalow (Hut)............

The location of this hotel is perfect! It is in the midle of everything at the same time it is family friendly and quiet. The only thing we missed was a larger pool area. But on the other hand - who really need pools in these soroundings?

My husband and I had stayed here for 4d/3n in Krabi Tipa resort (deluxe room). The facilities were not fantastic. If you are looking for a stay-in hotel with much facilities or nice big pools for your kids to play-in or to chill-out with a cocktail by the poolside, then try some other hotels. The buffet spread for breakfast wasn't good either.

However, the cleanliness of this resort was good. They did a really good job in cleaning the bathroom and flooring of our room. Most importantly, we would like to applaud the staff in the hotel for their honesty. We went out on an island hopping trip which was a whole day event. Carelessly, we left behind our valuables: 10 000 worth of Thai baht, jewelries, 2 mobile phones, passports in the unlock safe... We only realised it when we were back to the hotel room by end of the day. The room was nicely clean up and the valuables remain untouched in the widely opened safe. We were very grateful to the honest staff that cleaned up our room without taking any of our valuables...

The location was good. It was about 10 mins walk to the beach. There were lots of shops, street food hawkers, pharmacies and restaurants. There was even a minimart just outside the hotel. The location was very strategic and convenient.

We would like to suggest to the first-time goer to Krabi NOT TO MISS the island hopping tour by speedboat to visit the spectacular Maya Bay, Bamboo Island & Phi Phi Island! If you love to indulge in massage, try the Golden Beach Resort massage situated along the Ao Nang Beach. Also, remember to try the local pancakes and rice noodles by the street hawkers too!

We had enjoyed this holiday very much and we will be back again, Krabi !!

Room Tip: Deluxe room with higher floor will be nice to chill out at the balcony!

Very conveniently located right in the middle of Ao Nang. Just 5 mins walk to the beach where you can hire a long-tailed boat to the nearby islands. Convenience shop is just at the entrance of the hotel. Very friendly security guards who greet you everytime you walk in or out of the hotel. Our deluxe room was very spacious and just steps away from the adult pool. We enjoyed the one day island hopping and snorkeling trip. Bring lots of sunblock and drinking water if you want to go for that trip ... you're going to need them. Lunch provided by the island hopping trip was under expectation. My kids can't take spicy food and most of the food provided are spicy. Luckily there are lots of shops, 7-Eleven, Subway, Mac, etc just within walking distance from the resort. Massage centres are everywhere too although some higher class ones charge much higher fees which I think is not worth it. I got my hour of oil massage, manicure & pedicure done so beautifully at an all in price of only THB500. Internet was not available in room. Although wireless was available at the lobby, the connection was terrible. Anyway, my family had a really good time there and we'll be sure to come back to Tipa Resort again.

I and my wife was there at 2.3 - 9.3 2012. We pleased that hotel provide different way to Thailand nature in the middle of haste. We have good luck when we booking in, we get one category better room. There is about ten Teak Houses in that small hillside, here you can imagine live in wild jungle. There you can hear lot of different animal noise even see those, regardless of village noises. One debilitating thing was hard ground, it´s very challenging every day walk up to the hill in that temperature. But when you are in your room and you see sunset and you hear that naturaly voice, it´s a prize that pains. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was normal Thailand breakfast, good but sometimes kitchen staff forget complement serving.

Room Tip: It´s two differents way. If you like your and you privacy and you join the nature take Teak House...

This hotel is one of the calmest places in the mid of the town. It is located near the pier from where one can hire lon-tail boats to nearby Railay Beach. The cottages are wonderful value for money. We booked two cottages overlooking the swimming pool. The staff was very cordial. As you check in, you are taken on a battery car to your room. The architecture and hue of the building is very Thai, simple and light colored. The breakfast is also very expansive.

Room Tip: Choose a cottage near the pool side for great views

Booked this place more out of necessity to recover after an overland trip from Bangkok by train, bus and mad taxi driver. The bungalow we booked was not available so were upgraded to 2 bedroomed family 'suite'. Although we only spent two nights here the room was clean and quiet even though based just above the restaurant. Don't expect much from breakfast or you will be disappointed. It will fill you up but if this meal is vitally important then look at a higher star rating where western influences are more on show. The pool was smallish for the hotel size but no early morning sunlounger grabbing, which seems to happen elsewhere. Well located in Ao Nang but much quieter then other other areas in Thailand (i.e Phuket) Plenty of restaurant choices, banks, ATMS and general shopping. Boats to Railay beach and local islands readily available about 5 mins walk from the hotel. Some would say the noise from the boats a bit disturbing: I disagree and say it's part of the charm. Beach is quiet small when the tide is but it never seemed that crowded. Would consider staying here again but choice in Ao Nang seems plentiful. Most travellers seem to drift through within a few days while the majority of hotel 'long stays' seem to be Scandinavian given the charter flights to Krabi.
