It seems, that after years of almost stagnation, Ao Nang finally has developed some form of masterplan. There is construction activity everywhere, new hotels and restaurants are being built, old and dated shops being replaced by modern new ones, broken-up sidewalks resurfaced, etc. One of the new restaurants is the CASA LUNA, the sister restaurant to the LA LUNA ( located across from the beach ).The lady Thai owner is married to an Italian, and I can assure you, that the food at the CASA LUNA is the real thing, unlike at the 4 - 5 imposters along the beach road, that call themselves Pizzarias, but that are in reality really Thai, Indian or whatever restaurants, JESEAO being the worst of the lot. The CASA LUNA is located along the quiet stretch of the beach road, just past the KRABI RESORT ( see separate review ), and on the same side. You can sit next to the sidewalk, or a few steps up. From higher up you can observe the activities of the Night Market across the street. The menu is very extensive for this type of restaurant, all the favourites are there, like lasagna, ravioli, penne & spaghetti dishes, excellent soups, etc. Everything is fresh and prepared on site. Don't miss the homemade Tiramisu. The service is friendly and very attentive. The 2 main waiters Rohan and
Gopan ( James ) look like Italians (sorry guys !! ) straight from Milano, Italy, but are in fact from Myanmar. These always smiling fun guys are great ambassadors of their home country. If you are planning to visit Myanmar, get all the travel tips from Rohan and Gopan. They also have a friendly greeter, Arjun, also from Myanmar. If we would not already have a small group of restaurants in Ao Nang, that we started to like over so many visits, we would have had dinner every night at the CASA LUNA.

Located just opposite of ao nang beach where most of the ao nang restaurants are located but I think they are one of the best. We tried 5-6 restaurant but most of our meal we did in la casa.
Their pizza is the best so if you visit you should try it at least once. We had pizza almost everyday we dine there and the best part was for us that they serve HALAL foods. You will find halal foods every where in Krabi but their foods are really yummy.
The restaurant is just opposite of the beach so you can have a wonderful view with the smooth breeze of the sea.

If you want to enjoy something else but Thai food while you are in Ao Nang - go to La Casa. The pizza is something you should not miss.
