Overall, I am very satisfied with my stay at The Nine Hotel.

Pros:
Room is modern, spacious and I love the outdoor area (table, chairs provided and Jacuzzi tub to relax in).
Staff are friendly, efficient and proficient in English. They are able to provide advice on F&B and activities to do around the area.
Location is very convenient (2 minutes walk to 7-11, McDonald's & Starbucks) and just 30 minutes drive to the airport.
Many restaurants, pubs and massage parlours along the same stretch of road.

Cons:
There is no lift at the hotel.
There is a lot of construction going on in that area and many mosquitoes as a result (though not the hotel's fault). Hopefully the situation will improve once all the construction is completed.

Stayed here for the one night. We arrived at around 8 o clock at night to a dark reception, so were worried if the place was opened! Finally a night porter came out, he had no English so was surprised that the actual receptionists left so early. There are no lifts in this hotel but helpfully the night porter brought up some of the bags for us, not sure how long it would have taken us otherwise! The room itself was very nice, the shower had hot water, the bed was comfortable and the wifi was acceptable.

Unfortunately in the morning they started to do repair works in the room next door to ours. I felt this should have been something that should have been told to us the night before as we had a long day travelling. We did receive discount on the room (after much discussion) All in all a nice hotel to stay in (just make sure there are no maintenance works planned!)

Dear valued customer,

Thank you very much for taking the time to provide us with some feedback.
Regarding the noise, please allow us to clarify with you that even though construction could be heard from our hotel, it is actually from our noisy neighbor right next door. It is quite common for hotels to conduct maintenance work during June-October due to it being low season. Nevertheless, we really apologize for the negative experience.

We are also happy to share with you aswell as other readers that The Nine Hotel is currently undergoing many improvements such as added amenities within the room including new DVD players (DVD library in the lobby), tea/coffee makers, additional comfy pillows and various other details to increase comfort as well as convenience for our guests. The WIFI bandwidth has also been tripled with improved coverage ready for next season.

Again we apologize for your experience but if you can give us the chance, we will definitely make your next stay with us a much improved experience!

Yours sincerely,

Tam (manager)

We stayed here for 2 nights after realising the backpacker scene of Railay was not for us! This place was just what we needed...

The room had a very comfy bed and pillows, AC, TV (not loads of English channels, but that's pretty normal!), wardrobe and safe, fridge and a balcony with clothes hanger. Everything was spotlessly clean, the towels were fluffy and the bathroom was great! Shower gel and shampoo are provided in the bathroom and the shower itself was amazing! The receptionist was very helpful when we asked her to help arrange an early morning taxi to the airport for our departure.

The hotel is situated on the main road, but we did not hear any road noise at all. It is around a 10 minute walk to the beachfront and its accompanying restaurants, shops and bars and there are spa shops nearby for a bargain massage.

We thought it was excellent value and would stay here again!

A fair location and spotlessly clean but the 'mountain view' is rather spoiled by the busy main road between you and the mountain. Quite noisy at night. No breakfast was available while I was there. The outdoor spa didn't show either. The limited English of the receptionist gave her a rather off-hand attitude while the night staff didn't even bother to look up when I walked in... The room though was excellent in terms of comfort and cleanliness.
All depends what you're looking for in a hotel I suppose but, to me, this place didn't feel particularly welcoming.

We arrived in Ao Nang 2 nights ago and it was so hot we just grabbed the first acceptable room we could find. Unfortunately that was a mistake. After two nights of bar music till 3am and drilling work starting one morning at 8:30 we decided it wasn't worth the cheap price. After walking up the street, asking the prices and seeing rooms this hotel was miles ahead of the rest and the best price! It's about a 10 minute walk to the beach, but that's no bother. Loads of market stalls and coffee places to grab something on the way and a tuk tuk cost me only 20 baht. The receptionist is absolutely lovely and the rooms actually look like they do on the pictures which is hard to find in low cost accommodation.

If your travelling on a budget and missing out on the resorts in Ao Nang, then stay here! I only wish I had found it sooner.
