After 6 months on the road my husband and I decided to spoil ourselves with a bit of luxury and check into The Best Western... what a disappointment! Little things were not seen to: we were not assisted with carrying out bags when we checked in, we weren't given a umbrella so we got soaked walking to our room, no "enjoy your stay" when we got to our room - just a couple of grunts and the door was shut. Spent 5 minutes on the phone calling down to reception but no answer. Bedding was nice but towels and toiletries were pretty average. You get 1 x 500ml bottle of water free per person (not enough) and 1 x instant coffee sachet (stingy) Staff speak basic English so it is very difficult to request anything.

WiFi is not included which for a hotel of this standard REALLY should be included.

Breakfast selection was good: 2 cereals, milk, yoghurt, fruit, breads, jams, crumpets, omlettes to order, noodle dish and a few salad ingredients (?)

Landed up leaving after 1 night and moved somewhere else.

I have never written I review but felt that I needed to warn people about this place before they stayed at this hotel. Upon arrival the staff was not so friendly. I think they were as happy to be there as we were. Our bathrooms were extremely dirty. When we woke up in the morning our air conditioning was dripping all over the floor, my clothes were soaked and so was the wall and ceiling. We had booked this place for 6 night and wanted to see if we could get some kind of refund. Their policy is no refunds being we had already prepaid on line. It was so bad we still left and went and paid for another hotel. We are now staying at the la playa which is clean! Great staff!! food is wonderful! And cost is about the same.

The hotel was okay... if you want a luxury trip this is not the hotel to go to. I went here because my pet was allowed. The food and room service was great though!

Very basic accomodation. Location is very good. If you want to get supplies, try the next door minimart (cheaper than others + sell fresh fruit and bread). There's also a cheaper (compared to hotel) massage area across the street. The nearest pizza place (Luna) has authentic Italian food and pizza is great. There is also an excellent street food across the street a few meters away (near Krabi Resort/Hotel) - there's a guy who sells Halal fried chicken which is awesome!!! Pool was nice but often full of people esp in the afternoon. 1 major thing the hotel needs to improve on is for their staff to learn English and to smile. They didn't seem very friendly even though I think some of them were trying - a smile would be the best way to make guests feel appreciated.

It was unfortunate that we were in Ao Nang when the tsunami warning was turned on - some of the hotel staff seemed panicked and when we asked reception what to do, they said to stay in the room. We waited for a few hours for updates - if we didn't ask a staff member we wouldn't have gotten an update. We opted to get updates from abroad through mobile. Although their communications wasn't good during this time, we appreciated the fact that the managers stayed at the hotel the entire time and they even served everyone free dinner after the warning was lifted.

Room tip: Get a room in Building 4 - get something far from the road. even in bldg 4 you can still hear the motorcycles and the cars - i can just imagine the noise in buildings near the street
