The Phi Phi tour was much better than the Koh Hong. The Phi Phi tour could skip the Bamboo Island beach stop as it is crowded and too rocky to enjoy…. this would give more time to Maya Bay and other more enjoyable destinations. The tour leader (Serena) was helpful on this tour.
The good experience from the Phi Phi tour was not repeated on the Koh Hong tour. The boat was completely overbooked, and the passengers were miserable being packed in. At least two people had to stand or sit on the coolers. Several passengers left their items on "premium" seats in order to reserve them, and the tour lead (Serena again) did nothing to stop the practice. The locations of stops for the Koh Hong tour were pretty, but useless (save for the last stop at Koh Hong beach) as they overcrowded with rough seas (no decent snorkeling on this trip.) Very disappointing. If you visit, look into private bookings through independent outfits, and dictate your itin.
