“great stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2014

Stayed here in June. We extended our stay as we enjoyed the hotel. Kandy on reception was terrific and helped us organise onward travel to Kota Baru. Loved the pool and being away from the hassel of Ao Nang. Our room was large spotless and very good value. Breakfast was average so we just dropped it from our tariff. Would stay here again

Good hotel, infinity pool, view from room not great, they have library, breakfast is normal don't except big spread like what a star hotel will normally have.
Good staff, will help you with luggage, no elevator.

The rooms were big and nice. Even the bathroom was huge. They have a small pool with a few deck chairs on the 1st floor. They have 2 computers for guest to use and a pool table too.

The only setback about this hotel is they have no LIFT. So please be prepared to walk up the stairs with yr heavy luggage or after a very long day of tour.

The hotel is at the end corner of the Ao nang beach. But not too far to walk to the shopping area facing the beach. Finding food nearby the hotel is not a problem.

We stayed for 6 nights April 2014. We selected this hotel based on amenities, price and location. We wasn't disappointed. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the start of the shops, restaurants and beach. We didn't suffer any noise from the surrounding amenities. We found the staff very pleasant and helpful, the lobby is open plan with free Wifi, there are also two free to use computers for guests. We booked a clubroom on the 3rd floor, there are no lifts so the stairs can be a little hard on tired legs. The room was clean, well laid out with a queen size bed which was a little hard - but we got used to it . There was also an in room safe. A nice size shower room with hairdryer. The air con was much needed, and we didn't find it noisy. the room is duplex style with lower small balcony, the upper terrace has a wooden bath tub with hot & cold plumbing, the tub was a little worn but clean, we loved sitting in there after a long day with a Samsung, Mosquito coils are a must !!!. there was also a couple of chairs and small table. The views to the rear overlook some local gardens and sheds and to the front there are views of the road and the sea can be seen over the rooftops. The pool is located on a small clean terrace on the 2nd floor with sun loungers, the infinity pool overlooks the road but this can only be seen from the pool edge looking down. The breakfast was simple, a buffet style, with toast, eggs, jam, tea coffee, fruit and cereal served. There was no need for a concierge as within 5 - 10 minutes walk you have every competitive tour available from kiosks. To the front of the hotel is a gorgeous little fishpond with amazing sized Koi carp. We didn't use the hotel spa so cannot comment.
We would recommend this hotel as a good base, not luxury but good value, clean and with all facilities, we would definitely stay again

We booked a Romance Room but were very disappointed. The pics of this room suggest beatiful views - not the case. The room we were allocated overlooked what looked like a rubbish site behind the hotel. The 'spa' on the roof was a wooden tub that I would never consider getting into - the inside was full of slime. The bed was like a wooden board and the heavily stained mattress protector could be seen through the bottom sheet. Ughhh. To be fair, the hotel staff did their best to make the bed more comfortable by finding another mattress to put on top of the plank-like bed. I had a week booking, which we promptly cancelled after day 1 and were only charged 2 nights (one a cancellation), which they probably did not have to do. The town itself is pretty nasty, the only thing going for it is the proximity to other gorgeous locations like Railay and nearby islands.

Room Tip: If you must stay here, try and get a room facing the beach side.

Overall, felt like we received a good value. We were within a 5-10 minutes of stores, beach and boat ticketing that takes people to other beaches. Likes: 1. 5 minutes or less walk to the #2 ranked restaurant that did not disappoint 2. friendly staff 3. clean rooms 4. one room slept two adults and two kids on a large king and a single bed- we paid for 3 adults and that was the right move 5. towels and beach mats were available to borrow for the beach.

My wish list: 1. have wi-fi in the rooms or at least in the pool area instead of just the lobby 2. make eggs to order to keep them warm - the person is already there 3. add a coffee on demand machine that grinds the beans - this would take the breakfast up a notch.

Reminder: make a taxi reservation the night before your trip back to the airport. The morning of was much more difficult than anticipated.

Room Tip: I did not see an elevator, so might be a problem if a person has a stroller.

I stayed here for 4 nights. The location is good except there are no good convenience stores nearby. There is one little shop near the main road that is overpriced. The hotel itself has character and feels like a large home. The style is European and it's very nice. The rooms were a good size but I was disappointed that the balcony was so small and had no chairs to sit on.

The good things were: nice shower, good size bathroom, comfortable beds and good working AC units. There were a few English channels on the cable including HBO. The pool was really nice with lots of sun and comfortable chairs. The pool does not have drink / food service even though there is a bar up there no one was working.

The not so good things: no elevators - something to consider if you have mobility issues. Also, the walk up to the hotel is on an incline so that could be tough. The doors and windows had gaps so we had some bugs and a gecko in our room. Mosquitos were not out while we were there but it could be a major annoyance if there were many mosquitos. The room was not as clean as I had hoped. When I checked in one of the coffee mugs was dirty and sticky. The balcony area was very dirty and was unsuitable to hang bathing suits and towels to dry.

Another disappointment was there is no in-room safe. Bring a lock for your suitcase or luggage.

The breakfast was fine, nothing special. It would have been nice if the eggs were kept warm. Wifi is available only in the lobby and pool area.

This hotel was good, but different from other hotels in Ao Nang in that the staff does not provide much in the service department. They were friendly and nice but there are no extras here. That's not necessarily bad - it just depends on what you are looking for. Overall it was a good experience. I would stay here again but I'm not sure it would be my first choice.
