loved the pool access room, the staff were friendly and helpful..
the room was a good size, clean and well maintained..
the pool area is smallish and in high season not sure how it would cope..
I assume that as it was the low season there was not too much on offer for the breakfast but it was just adequate ..always cold so one morning I asked if they could reheat for me and the chef cooked the whole plate full fresh..so can't really complain!! service was also lacking in the dining area...
on our first night they had a function in the dining area with karaoke...
i was a little nervous about the noise as our room was the closest...didn't hear a thing!!!
some convenience stores outside the hotel. turn left at the end of the street and walk a little you will find a group of food stalls. don't be afraid to try them..the food is cheap and delicious...we have eaten there on several trips and never had a problem!!!
would I go back...definitely and cant wait!!!

We stayed here for 5 nights in August. The service from the front desk was excellent however the service in the breakfast area was nearly none existent. Compared to other places we stayed throughout Asia the Buri Tara Resort breakfast was very ordinary 3 hot dishes that were always cold and lots of ants that the staff didn't seem to bothered about.
We had a pool access room and for two days we couldn't use the pool as they were spray painting on the second floor, the solvent fumes not only covered the pool area but came through the air conditioning in our room. The pool itself looked clean however there was a green slime on the tiles and caked with algae between the top row of tiles and paving bricks, it was as though the pool needed a good scrub.
Our stay here was very disappointing as the intention with a pool access room was to just relax and read a book however we had to clear out to avoid the smells and noise of the renovations,
When bookings are made I just wish these hotels would be a little more upfront that they are under going renovations as Ao Nang itself is a lovely spot

Stayed here 3d2n. Traveled in group of 8 peoples. All stayed in Superior room with breakfast. 2 of our group reached earlier around 8am and they were allowed to check in even though the normal check in time was 2pm maybe due to low season and room availability. We arrived the hotel at 2.30pm with a welcome drink and our check in process was very fast after handing over our reservation receipt to the receptionist.
-Location: Quiet environment. Not that near to Ao Nang beach side shops but is walk able for like 10 mins.
-Hotel Exterior: Good looking simple and nice deco with sufficient sofa on the lobby area for resting/chilling.
-Room: All of our 4 rooms was clean and satisfied. Room size was just nice with balcony and 2 wooden chair and a side table for relaxing. But our view was messy electrical wire. There are some minor stain but it doesn't really concerned us. Please be reminded to close your balcony sliding door or else someone on the same floor will be able to climb over to your room.
-Room Service: Didn't ordered for room service so no comment.
-Staff: First credit to Ms. Khodeeyah Seemad, Reservation Front Office Department. She replied every single email that i've sent even though in the end i didn't booked directly with them but through agoda and they still replied me with satisfaction. Staff was all good except that there is one time when i asked one of the receptionist to help me call our travel agency since they didn't arrived after 15 minutes and she wanted to charge me for making a call. I reserved our tour before i arrived to the hotel and i didn't know they provide tour as well. But after all, she did helped us to call without any charges.
-Facilities: Only swimming pool as what i've seen and never use it. It looks clean but kinda small.
-Food Quality: Food was not that good. Even the fried rice and noodles are tasteless.
-Accessibility and Amenities: Walking distance to Nopparattara Beach like 5 mins and Ao Nang beach 10 minutes. Outside of the hotel has few convenience store, a massage centre and some food stall and a restaurant. Tuk2 can be catch at the main road just 10m away.
-Wifi: Wifi isn't working at the lobby even though they said is free.

Location of Buri Tara was great. The beach was not walking distance but we hired bikes. Free wifi only in the lobby. Breakfast was the same for 5 days which was really disappointing. Ate all meals out!

We recently Stayed at the Buri Tara for 3 nights. Our welcome at the hotel was excellent, we were shown to our room which was a pool access room. The first thing that hit us when we walked in was the vile unusual smell. The only thing I could put it down to was the mosquito repellent grass on the side and in the bathroom. The room itself was spotlessly clean and very modern with a large comfortable bed. There was a large spacious bathroom but a few things in there did need attending to like mouldy sealant around the sinks and bath and one of the sinks had a broken plug so we couldn't empty the dirty water. Also the same day we arrived the room key slot for electric and lights fell off the wall and was hanging my wires which caused the lights to flicker. I reported this to the reception desk and they repaired it with Sellotape?? The pool area was a good size, clean and tidy, and impressive. It looked like it had recently been painted and the sun loungers looked new but then we noticed a thick green scum line right around the pool water on the wall and it really spoilt it for us. Breakfast was shockingly bad. This was a 2 star breakfast at best!! Not a lot of variety, coffee and juice that was cheap and disgusting. Surfaces has ants everywhere. The Jam was open in a bowl rather than in separate single portions or small jars, thus causing ants, ants all around the orange juice, bread left uncovered. We watched birds fly in onto spoons helping themselves to the rice and other cooked foods and the staff just watched and never even changed the spoons, very un hygienic. This could be helped by having them in bowls of water like in other hotels. This hotel is in a good area and has the potential to be a 4 star resort but there is not enough care or attention to detail.

This was the second time we have stayed at this hotel, we enjoyed it last year so booked it again this year for 5 nights. We booked a pool access room both times, it had a lovely outlook over the pool. The rooms were spotless, thoroughly cleaned every day. Tea and coffee making facilities and bottled water restocked each day. It is probably about a 15 minute walk into town, there are tuk tuks for a very cheap price if you don't want to walk. There is free wifi in the foyer of the hotel.
The breakfast is very basic. Cereal, juice, fruit and toast, there were fried eggs that were cold and Asian food available. The coffee was undrinkable.
We checked out other hotels in the Ao Nang area and still think the Buri Tara is as good as you could get.
I found the reception and cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: I have only stayed in a pool access room so can't comment on other room types. All rooms would...

July 2013- parents and 3 teen boys. Took the bus from the airport. Cheaper than a taxi and accommodating as it stopped in front of every hotel the bus occupants required. Our hotel staff were extremely pleased to be of service and give advice about trips and options. Our rooms were extremely clean and comfortable and next to each other on the 1st floor facing the pool which was clean and large enough. The rooms/bathrooms seemed newly decorated to European standards with mod-cons. Breakfast was slightly repetitive but one can't really complain about that- juices, fruit, cereals, coffee/tea/chocolate beverages, breads, eggs and meats plus a Thai dish. The beach is a short walk away as is the main town. Wi-Fi in the lounge at all times. Cover yourself in mosquito repellent though if you are in the open lounge in the evenings. Scooters can be hired just outside the hotel and the hotel arranged (for good value) taxi transfer to the airport for our early morning departure. In all, I would certainly recommend this hotel.
My only complaints- free book shelf had only Norwegian and German paperbacks but that is hardly the hotel's fault. Strange smell in the mornings from gutters alongside the open corridors- shellfish? It is the seaside after all. Couldn't smell it in the rooms though.

Room Tip: Facing the pool. Maybe not the ground floor unless you want direct access to the pool.
