Songkran festival

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 15 Apr 2019via mobile
Its the center of Ao Nang. Close to the beach, shops, restaurant (Halal food is everywhere), 1 big mosque, nightlife, etc. The room is big but the bed is so stiff (hard), tv seems not working also the toilet flush work but you need to do it manually (only for my room. The receptionist are friendly and able to speak english. Songkran festival commence around 10am till 7pm (only few spots still celebrate after that). You just need to walk around and you will enjoy it. Overall it was nice to stay there.

It was nothing even near the pictures! Very primitive bathroom, there was a curtain however we still don't get it's purpose as the shower drain was next to the toilet (!!!!). Everything got wet and dirty. We were glad to leave. Staff not really friendly and even some other guests were having a strong argument with the staff. Worst place we'd slept in Thailand. We'd advise not to go...

The location was nice, near the beach. There were towels to borrow to take to the beach. However Ao Nang beach is not that nice. Better take a longtailboat and go to Railey Beach. However these are all factors outside the room...

Room tip: Gewoon niet gaan.. Als je wel gaat neem geen kamer met 'city view', lijkt net of je buiten ligt ipv in een kamer.

The location was great, the room was ok too, the staff friendly. Maybe a bit pricey but this area is expensive.

Remarks:
There is no elevator.
Pay a bit more to stay in a room facing the mountain if you are sensible to noise.

The staff was the best part of staying in this hotel, very very friendly and helpful and spoke good english which is rare in Thailand.
We had many questions and they answered all and gave us good tips on where to find cheap local food.
Very accomodating, they even managed to arrange so that we didn have to change room in the middle ( supposed to in the beginning)
The room ?
Well, its not a 5 star hotel....2-3 stars maybe....
But the hotel has a very good location, close to everything and if you have a room on the 4th floor and facing the garden with an amazing nice sea view, you will be sleeping like a rock. Im not sure thats gonna happen if you face the road.
The room was clean enough for us with all the comfort we needed so basicly we didnt need anything else.
For Aonang i think this was a good deal, yes a bit expensive for that standard but this is Aonang and i checked out personally, by foot, 5 hotels before i choose this one.

I stayed here 9 nights in a threebeded room for 670€ including breakfast. Not worth the price! The best thing about the hotel was the walking distance to the beach and the staff in the reception. The staff in the reception is very serviceminded and meets all the requierments that the staff should meet.

The hotel looks nice and clean at first impression, and it might be easy to miss out on the ants in the room that crawls close to the ceiling. You are not allowed to eat in the room due to attraction to ants , but they are already there.

The rooms are not soundproof so you will hear the maids talk loud 07:00 in the morning so forget sleeping in. You will also hear the neighbours both from above and on the side. One of the notes says ”do not talk loud in the room” so if you are staying here I recommend you a room to the mountain and some earplugs. There was a list of things you would need to pay for if its broken which I felt was a joke since one of the stool, curtain rod and a tile in the bathroom alertast was broken and the curtain hanging had dirty dots.

The bathroom is one of the most filthy places, there is no aircon here which means that its very damp and I dont know how much mold. The maids dont clean this room properly. There are no toiletbrush so the tile inside the toilet aint to fresh. I recomend use of handrub. In our bathroom we had a strong smell like insectiside spray the whole visit. When we asked about it we heard it wasent insectiside spray and it would fade away. It didnt fade away though but was bareable.

The pool area was clean. There was a pooltablearea that has potential to be better if they clean up the place and put in a fan above the pooltable. As well as change the poolque and get a blue rubber for the poolques.

The breakfast between 07-10:00 is dueable, also a lot of ants crawling around on the breakfast table were the food is served. You may not know how long the food has been laying around if you come at 09:00 so its a health disaster! The breakfast tables arent clean and even though its hot, the fans are not on.
