We took a ships tour to visit two vineyards one of which is listed here. We were impressed with the amount of wine produced by these wineries. The quality of the wine is comparable to Napa Valley wines. After the tour we were both given a complimentary bottle of wine to take home. Although the area is not spectacular in scenic charm, it has it's own uniqueness.

We had a 'last port of call' at Ensenada with our HAL Hawaiian cruise and we took the excursion (about 3 hours) that drove us around Ensenada (other than the university it's not much to see, at least on that tour drive), and then we went to the Cultural Centre and so glad we booked this. I must say the vendors that are in the courtyard did not seem to have quality offerings, as most of the items seemed quite cheap and uninspiring if one was looking for somethiing that truly showed a cultural aspect. The building is a delight to see and has a very interesting history. Several ceilings are really magnificent in their structure and painting, some wonderful ironworks, doors, and photos on the wall of historical moments. But the best were the dancers, the Mariachi Band, and most of all, the 76 year old 'cowboy' and his lasso performance....he is just amazing. The costumes, the commentary, and the music all made for a good insight as to the culture and history. The show does not skimp on the performances and you certainly 'get your moneys worth'.
Take this in, it's a delight!

We toured this building in Nov. 2013 as part of our Princess Sapphire Cruise excursion to La Bufadora. I'm glad we stopped because this was the best part of an otherwise dismal experience in Ensenada.

Yes, there are a few kids selling trinkets outside the building but they aren't at all aggressive and they don't chase you or plead. For that matter, the few vendors inside the courtyard of this great cultural treasure don't harass either.

The building inside is a remarkable bit of history under restoration and depending on how good your tour guide is (ours was EXCELLENT), you will further appreciate the stunning murals, tile work, imported ironwork, etc.

To top it off, there are very good Margaritas for sale at a reasonable $3.00 which far outshine the Free samples of sweet slush. Our party of 6 agreed they were the best Margaritas we sampled during our cruise, onboard or in port at Cabo San Lucas or Puerto Vallarta.

This building is available for events such as parties, weddings, conventions and such. It's on our list for an Anniversary party in the future!

This tour stop was included on another trip. The building is beautiful but not worth a stop. The interior court yard is filled with vendors trying to sell their goods and just when you think you're done with the shopping, the vendors move their children to the front of the buiding so when you exit you are faced with begging children selling junk for a few bucks.

I was glad we had time to visit the Cultural Center. We learned a little bit about the history and traditions of Baja California, and particularly Ensenada. We didn't realize many things, like Ensenada is the largest city in all of Baja, until we went to the Cultural Center. Very engaging tour guide!
