“Clean, Average Motel”
Reviewed 9 January 2007

I was a little worried about staying here after reading some reviews. But, thankfully, I wasn't cheated and the staff was very helpful. It is right in the heart of the tourist zone. The room was clean enough. Like a well-maintained Motel 6. I would stay there again.

We had a nice one-night stay right on the tourist's main-drag but not too far to go for some authenticity either. Parking was off-street and safe. The hotel was quiet and clean and reasonably priced (esp. with AAA discount.)

We wouldn't want to stay there for an entire vacation, but then again, we wouldn't want to stay in Ensenada for an entire vacation anyhow. In general, this is a good, safe bet for the money and you'll drive/walk around a long time before you beat it...IF you can beat it.

Check in and go have a margarita...

BEWARE "THE OLD SWITCHEROO!" We reserved a couple rooms for Sept, which is 4 months from now, for couple nights at $384 as quoted on the internet. Prepayment was required of course. We were charged by credit card in advance- but when we checked back to confirm, we were informed the price had doubled to $770. Apparantly they FORGOT it was a busy weekend, and had to move us to their cheaper sister hotel that still cost a few bucks more. Don't bother trying to cancel because you won't get your money back.

We then contacted Days Inn for explanation- apparantly this place is NOT AFFILIATED WITH DAYS INN at all, despite bearing the glorious name. You're on your own here.

Well we're not going to let this minor setback spoil our trip. After all, you're SUPPOSED to get ripped off in Mexico and it's nice to know that some "traditions" still hold true.
So get wasted and have a good time. but remember where you are and don't forget to count your change.

We were quoted a price 3 times ($300 US) the normal and when we walked out, they dropped it 2/3 to $100 US. Still not worth it. Dirty carpet and paperthin walls. The rooms were musty and appeared to have been used by thousands of drunk college kids. There were stains everywhere, ughhhhhh!

The only refreshing thing was the bar. The bartenders and waiters were nice and the drinks well poured.

for an average hotel/motel this place is great-- stayed for 2 nights on my first trip to mexico and was pleasantly surprised (especially after all the bad reviews) i don't understand why people hated it so much. the room was clean, the shower worked fine, and the staff was friendly. the parking situation was weird, but we never had to go extraordinarily out of our way. plus because of it's central location we hardly ever had to drive in the first place. the most annoying thing was the loud noises in the morning (there was some kind of hammering going on) but it didn't help that we were hungover. overall i'd definitely stay here again

The location is in the center of the tourist zone and a easy walk to shopping, bars, restaurants and the bay front. The familiar Days Inn name, AAA sign, great location and resonable rate might tempt you to check in. Actually the construction is cheap, the paper thin walls make for a loud room if your neighbors are in party mode. When the hotel is more than half full the parking is inadequate and they clog the parking lot until you have to park off sight. The rooms show the wear of the party set that comes here. The sheets and towels are Motel 6 quality. Generally I could deal with all this--hey it is a cheap hotel in Mexico, low expectations=high satisfaction but the roaches and suspiciously missing blues jeans (stolen?)made me decide to look elsewhere next time.

Just spent two nights at this hotel with my two sons. Tried to book more "upscale" hotel, based on reviews here, but glad I could not find a room. Our room at Villa fontana was very clean, staff was very helpful, hotel located in center of town and had off street parking ( important). Air conditioning worked fine, but was not hot when we visited.

Wonderful value but based on others comments i suggest you check out your room before committing and get one that does not border the street.

One last thing. Prior review criticized pool conditions. Was very clean and used by many when we were there.
