We ate lunch here twice and were blown away by the quality and presentation of every thing we had. First meal: ceviche de la casa (fish, octopus and shrimp) was perfectly "cooked" sea food with crunchy peppers, onion, etc. and avocado, fried calamari (also among the best I've had), and a yellow tail entree. Excellent wine and local beer selection. Cost was around $30 each. We did the tasting menu which was also amazing and way too much food. Ended with a very nice lemon mousse topped with pine nuts. This place would stand out in San Francisco, L.A. or Manhattan. But to find it in a tourist town like Ensenada is like finding a nugget of gold in a stream that had been thoroughly worked out. I can't praise it enough.
Lunch starts at 1:00; not sure about dinner hours. Don't use your GPS to find it (it will not take you there). Go to the embarcadero (Malecon in Spanish) and walk north toward the end of the harbor. It's a bit north of the fish market.

“This would be a top restaurant in San Francisco or Paris”
Reviewed 13 March 2014 via mobile

Except they couldn't get fish this good in those places. It's a little otherworldly. Their tasting menu is an education in delicacy and flavor; oysters, ceviche, yellowtail, chowder, fish quesadillas. And dessert. And I've left out some things. I'm sure the list changes with the catch. The fish market, right next door, is worth visiting, even if it leaves you feeling deprived for the rest of your life.

“Best Seafood Place in Ensenada”
Reviewed 7 March 2014

I eat at this place on a weekly basis and it never gets old. Its simply amazing. I love always asking what they have fresh, and the always answer "Everything!!" If its not fresh they dont serve it. The main chef there and owner does an excellent job at hand picking their ingredients and fish on a daily basis. The quality of their product is superb and add into it that their cooking techniques are amazing. Its basically the equivalent of a 5 star restaurants anywhere in the States but with ingredients that are much tastier and a lot fresher.

Here's what I recommend:
- Ceviche Mixto
- Pescado del Dia (ask for the salad instead of the rice)
- Octopus - they make one with a red sauce that is simply amazing. I forget what its called but just asked for it and they'll know.
- Calamar Frito

If you want to have a beer try their Agua Mala brew. Its a locally brewed beer thats simply amazing too.

I forgot to say, the service is phenomenal. The waiter know all the details about their menu and are friendly.

Tip: I would love to go there for dinner but they close pretty early. Please extend your working hours and also please open on the holidays. Last Xmas I tried to bring some guests there and the restaurant was close for the entire week.

“David the owner and dishes are fabulous”
Reviewed 29 January 2014

This is one of those local gems that we are soooo glad to find. Every dish was extraordinary and fresh. On our last trip, we had the cerviche, shrimp quesidillias, fried calamari, and fruit mousse. For $45.00 USD this meal fed 3 people and included 2 beers and a coke. Yes, it's more pricier than the tacquerias but well worth it. David, the owner, cares for each diner as he makes it a point to stroll the floor and check up on each table. David also speaks English. A wonderful place!
