Great place. Even though it is right off the tourist street, it is full of locals and very few gringos.

Cold beer and birrias with all the trimmings - excellent tortillas, radishes, onions, salsas.

The meat was perfectly cooked and in a broth that is indescribably rich and flavorful.

The birrias are served in two sizes, both of which are huge. We shared a small and could barely finish it.

When we got the check, we thought they had made a mistake because it was so low.

Highly recommended, particularly if you just done with fish tacos and want some incredible meat.

They have these chips, they're nothing like I've seen before. So crunchy and light.... Paired with their salty and spicy salsa - it's seriously awesome.

The service is fantastic, some of the friendliest around!

Now, the Birria de Chivo... Generous amounts of goat, tender and not too 'goaty' haha. Added the salsa, onions and cilantro, squeeze of line and the flavors come alive. This is one of my most favorite foods in Mexico.

Oh and another plus: free wifi!

Just 1 block off the main shopping avenue, this is a great change from the normal tourist traps. They specialize inBiria Chivo, a goat stew that is not gamey. They serve a nice salsa and chills plus several accompaniments for the Birria such as onions, cilantro, etc.

They have a good selection of fresh juices and Mex beers. The strolling Mariachis will serenade your table for $5.

It's the real deal Mex spot, and very comfortable, even for families.

My son & I enjoyed our dinner. He ordered 3 beef tacos and liked them so much he ordered another for dessert! I had beef & lamb, both were very good. We also had frijoles de olla (whole beans in a pot); and they, too, were very tasty. The salsas were excellent (especially the red one - both spicy & warm!), as were our drinks (horchata & fresh squeezed OJ). I finished up with a delicious flan. We'll definitely be coming back here1

We have traveled to Ensenada many a times and like this place. It offers very good authentic birria which is various meats cooked slow with mild chile seasonings. The meat of your choice; beef, goat or lamb is served to you in it's broth that has been rendered from cooking it. It's usually garnished with finally chopped onion and cilantro and a splash of lime. served to you with fresh made corn tortillas makes this dish heavenly.
This restaurant is big with ample seating areas, it is located borderline to what locals call "zona roja"(red zone). Be alert and don't wander beyond this establishment. Neighborhood begins to get shady with little bars that are not so great just a few yards away. Stay near Calle Primera where all tourist attractions are.
