The hotel is close to the "Malecon" and there are good seafood-restaurants at the "malecon" (like the "Bismarck"). The hotel is small with a beautiful garden and pool. There are beach towels and beach chairs which you can take with you to the beach. The hosts were really helpful (best beaches, best restaurants, what to do in La Paz) and nice. The breakfast was excellent. With fresh eggs, good coffee and fresh fruit.

Room Tip: I liked the "Garden Room". It is cosy and has garden view.

Here are the reasons this is the place to stay when you're in La Paz:

1. The managers are kind, helpful, and generous.

2. The site itself is adorable and quaint, yet centrally located.

3. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained.

What more can you ask for?

A place with surprisingly good facilities.
Rooms compact but complete with clever use of space and all amenities present.
The ground floor courtyard with pool (and yes, free hummingbirds) is a treat.
The manager is pleasant and helpful.

Room Tip: For some rooms quite a flight of steps has to be taken (no problem for us).

We stayed for 2 nights at the b&b and had a amazing time. The hosts were so helpful and helped us take full advantage of all that La Paz has to offer. We definitely ate our way through La Paz. You have to try the bacon wrapped hotdogs, fish tacos, ice cream, and tamales. Daryl and Diane can make some recommendations on the best places. The highlight of the trip was swimming with the whale sharks. The rooms were fine, ac, decent bed ect... and the breakfast was tasty with fresh bread, eggs, fruit & potatoes. The house was very cute with hummingbirds and turtles in the garden. We would stay here again for sure.

We discovered this lovely B&B last year while looking for a better more comfortable place to stay for our return trip to La Paz this year. We really enjoyed meeting Diane and Darrell and they happily gave us a tour throughout this stylish Mexican house. Each room looked comfortable and very pretty (even the tiny Piano Room) but we loved the Renaissance Room and we returned this year to stay at the Posada for 12 days in our favorite room. Beautiful views, large patio with hammock, table and chairs (we ate several candlelight dinners on this patio), large comfortable room. Great wifi, satellite TV, small fridge, coffee maker with all the fixings, fresh water daily, full access to a well equipped kitchen on the first floor, pool (not heated but very pretty) several evening Margarita Parties with terrific homemade (Darrell's famous recipes) salsa and guacamole. These evening happy hour get togethers were especially welcomed as it was a great opportunity to meet the other fellow travelers. The gals that work with Diane keep this B&B spotless and they happily help serve breakfast at the sister hotel, which is a half block stroll away. We enjoyed breakfast every morning, pool-side (note that this heated pool is available to all guests of both hotels), chatting to other guests while enjoying a full meal, freshly prepared by Chalo and Gail. Since we were guests for almost two weeks, we can absolutely say without hesitation that the Posada is run beautifully and that the comfort and happiness of their guests is the most important thing to Diane and Darrell. We highly recommend this B&B to travelers who want to be near the water, restaurants, the Malecon, markets and to those people who enjoy all that staying in a city has to offer. We will be back next year to enjoy our home away from home.

A lovely little B&B one block up from the malecon. We stayed in "The Next" or penthouse as it is called here,. A two bedroom one bath (jack-n-jill) with full kitchen, ample seating, good WiFi and easily sleeps 4 -- 6 if you want to put two on a fold out. Unit has a large, covered patio overlooking the bay. Darrell, the property manager is readily available to help make any reservations you need and knows everyone in LaPaz I think. Only down side is that because you are so close to the Malecon and the action of the water front, the noise level can be a bit annoying at night -- ear plugs are provided. Also, the water pressure is low -- due to the need in this part of the world to conserve water. These are only small things and I would recommend it to couples traveling together. If you have toddlers, I would not opt for the penthouse, but rather one of the rooms on the lower level, as the stairs are a bit much and the patio is not toddler proof. Not fancy, but very adequate and well located! Try it, you'll like it!
