“Funky hotel for those on a budget...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2011

I needed a place to stay for one night en route to a dive trip. Someone from the dive company recommended this hotel as an inexpensive, clean and funky alternative. It is conveniently located, about a 5 minute walk from the bus terminal on the Malecon. It was perfect for what I needed - clean, air conditioned, free WiFi. A light breakfast and coffee were included. The real attraction of the hotel is the amazing amount of antiques, natural relics and recycled stuff that is displayed in the courtyard - like a museum. This hotel was a highlight of my trip!

Isaac, the manager, responded immediately to my initial email, and was very helpful in suggesting a good restaurant, arranging a taxi and answering any questions I had about La Paz.

We didn't stay here, we happened upon it while touring La Paz. The entrance caught our eye so we popped in. The attendant was really welcoming. He showed us around & even showed us one of the rooms. It was such an interesting place that we stayed for a beer.

Jewelry to lanterns to tools & everything in between decorates this place. Awesome. If you don't stay overnight, at least stop by for a look & a drink! It's truly unique.

This is a no frills hotel but the rooms are very clean and guests have free coffee in the morning and a shot of tequila each evening. In addition, we had our laundry done twice for no extra charge. The hotel also offers bicycles and you can use the kitchen (cocina) which is also clean.

We liked the location - central and easy to walk to shops, the Malecon, and the markets. We paid $460 pesos each night. The hotel also has a computer with internet connectivity for guests to use.

We would definitely stay there again.

Miguel Macias the owner of this funky unusual Hotel is remodeling it - little by little , new fixtures in bathrooms, floors plumbing rewire etc. The place is packed with unsual flotsam, and Jetsam, many of which reflect the history of La Paz and Baja California-
There is a video of the Yeneka on u-tube it is listed under "un hotel peculiar," a peculiar Hotel. He has internet available, laundry service, complementary coffee in the am, and in the evening a free shot of tequila! Not bad for around $40-50 dlls dble occupancy
The hotel is centrally located in the Historical district of La Paz, which is the major PLUS of this hotel. He has monthly rates also, and there is a little kitchen located at the entrance available also if one is feeling like cooking a homemade meal. Very friendly, lots of fun, all the night life is located near this hotel and it is within blocks of the Water front. He speaks fair English.

On a solo trip to La Paz the Yeneka was suggested in the taxi from the airport. Along a side street near the town plaza and catheral this funky little hotel is located behind a street side tortia stand. They are very pleasant and speak perfect English. Rooms are around a coutyard full of very colorful junk. Rooms are clean, with hot water. That's about it. No phone , T.V.,
Sign in front is 3 wheel rims stacked up and a handpainted sign on top. Great for budget minded travelers. If solo, I'd go back.
