“Fell in love with Posada LunaSol and La Paz”
Reviewed 21 March 2011

Everything about the Posada LunaSol was amazing, starting with the friendly staff who made us feel right at home. The staff go above and beyond the call of duty to make guests feel comfortable. They will do whatever they can to help guests get the most out of their stays in La Paz, from answering any and all questions about the local area, wildlife, adventure tours, Mexico, traditions...anything--to recommending and/or arranging outings.

We had the opportunity to stay in four different rooms throughout our extended stays and all of the rooms were immaculate, comfortable and private. All have comfortable beds and large showers, access to a kitchen and bottled water.. Sinks are outside the WC/shower room, which is great when traveling with multiple people. The cleaning staff are friendly, helpful and make you feel at home. The upstairs patio is heaven on earth, with hammocks, a view of the water and/or stars. You could sit there reading all day, but make sure to get out and see everything else the area has to offer. The knowledgeable staff will make sure you have a great time.

The hotel is in a residential area, within walking distance of marinas, the malecón, downtown, restaurants and all the delights of La Paz. If you are interested in visiting anything further afield, the staff will make it happen. Be sure to try the kayak/snorkel/adventure tours offered by the adjacent Mar y Aventuras. The guides are excellent, friendly, knowledgeable--amazing.

We spent a total of five nights at Posada LunaSol in late Feb. to early March, 2011. We arrived about 8p.m. and right away received a very warm welcome as we began to settle in to a place we had never been before. All the staff, from the young men at the desk to the women who cared for the rooms were wonderful -- very helpful not only for us, but for the group of friends who were also there. High standards of both cleanliness and beauty are evident at LunaSol. We enjoyed the community kitchen area as well as the rooftop terrace, and views out to the water. The location, tucked back away from main roads but within walking distance of the malecon and various restaurants is really perfect. We stayed in two different rooms as part of a combo trip. Our first room had quite a leak from the shower, and it was immediately repaired when we let them know about the problem. We had a chance to see several of the rooms -- each a little different, and all very attractive. The hotel is not too big, not too small....just right. It is designed for friendly interactions among the guests, or private time, as preferred. We highly recommend LunaSol, as well as the combo trip we enjoyed with Mar y Aventuras.

This small hotel is only a few blocks from the Malecon in the friendly and safe city of La Paz. The rooms are beautifully decorated using local art and weavings. The roof top terrace is perfect for watching the sunset over the Bay of La Paz. The staff goes out of their way to make your stay special. The hotel gives you access to the "quiet side" of southern Baja, plus all the outdoor activites. We have stayed at Posada LunaSol three separate times and it just keeps getting better.

Posada LunaSol is exactly as they describe it - a quaint Mexican Inn. We stayed there for two nights in the same room and were very pleased (Standard room with one King-sized bed). Hugo, the night clerk in the office, is really great. So helpful, happy to recommend places to eat and arrange tours of the Island or to see the whale sharks. The noise level was very minimal, except voices in the hallways do seem to echo. The upstairs patio is equipped with three hammocks, three chaise lounge chairs, and a table - great for playing games, reading, or just enjoying the sunset. They provide clean water and there is also a small kitchen and refrigerator which are very accessible. It is not a far walk to the nearest ATM at the Pemex, Bandido's Grill (Home of Baja's Blazin' BBQ, where they cook hamburgers in the engine compartment of a Chevy truck), or the Malecon, just a few blocks away.

nicely decorated, clean rooms. Nice palapa on the roof with beautiful view of the bay. Wireless, hot water showers. All very good., Just no breakfast service but there are a few places around the corner for that. They can hook you up for all kinds of tours. Very friendly staff. Quietly located at the edge of the center. Nearby Bandidos burger-garden restaurant is also recommended

Posada LunaSol offers a fantastic, quiet location with the La Paz Harbor, shops and restaurants near by. From the moment my clients arrived we were given excellent service from their highly professional and personable hotel staff. The rooms are very attractive with quaint decor unique to each room. Housekeeping does a fantastic job of keeping the rooms clean and welcoming. The beds were very comfortable and my clients mentioned how well they sleep. A spacious veranda provided an excellent location to watch the sunset over the harbor while enjoying a margarita from a comfortable hammock. The hotel provides a shared kitchen area which is real bonus when traveling as a group or family. Posada LunaSol is ideal for the eco-adventure traveler since it is also the headquarters for Mar y Aventuras which offers excursions to experience the whales and other natural wonders of Baja. As the owner of an eco-adventure travel business, I highly recommend Posada LunaSol.

Our group of friends stayed at Posada Luna Sol one night preparing for a charter with The Moorings company. I had stayed at Posada Luna Sol and recommended it to our group. We were most pleased with our rooms and the quiet and relaxed atmosphere of the hotel. We also arranged transportation through the office of Posada Luna Sol with Aurelio Castro. He was a delightful person who helped us with the provisioning for our boat charter and transport to and from hotels in Cabo. I would recommend him unconditionally.
I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay in La Paz. If it had been up to me I would have stayed at Posad Luna Sol for the entire vacation.
