“Friendly spot in center of Loreto town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 February 2014

Owned by a local woman and her Irish husband, this a great option for "fine" dining in Loreto. They also have a small hotel on site. We enjoy the friendly service and outdoor seating when the weather is good, which is most of the time. They offer local craft brews on tap, which is unique in Loreto. Menu selection is good, with consistent regular dishes and interesting specials. In addition to local seafood and regional dishes, they offer a nice selection of pasta dishes with original sauces featuring local ingredients. My wife's favorite in town.

“Serenity in the Middle of Loreto”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 January 2014

We went to 1697 with friends so we could talk. The inside of the restaurant offered a quiet environment for my hearing impaired husband and our friends. The waiter reduced the sound of the music which also helped, but still played beautiful relaxing music. I will go there again.

“Amazing Food & Service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 December 2013

We didn't make it to 1697 on our first trip to Loreto and almost missed out on this trip. I am so glad we didn't. The service was very good and the waiters were attentive and helpful. The chile rellenos were amazing. We enjoyed our evening there so much we returned a few days later with friends for another delightful evening. The food and margaritas were delicious again. We are planning to return to Loreto in February and can't wait to dine there again.
