Hotel Boutique Castillos del Mar
Ranked #4 of 7 Rosarito B&B and Inns

I have been throughout Mexico down and up. I have stayed at the Rosarito Beach Hotel, Fiesta Plaza, Las Rocas, Hotel La Fonda, Los Pelicanos and some others. Castillos Del Mar takes the cake hands down when looking for a private romantic & elegant getaway. This property boasts two private beaches, which is unheard of in all of Rosarito. Hotel has a very rustic feel and look making it a very romantic place to be. Food is excellent and views right on the ocean are breathtaking. Staff makes you feel at home with a relaxing environment. I will always go back because of the unique environment this wonderful place has that no other Hotel/Resort and or Motel can match in the entire area. So when it comes to talking about Mexico and specifically Baja, Castillos Del Mar is on the top pick.

I really liked this hotel. My experience started off with being checked in by Alex, super friendly and helpful. The room, although a little dated, had a wonderful view of the ocean and a big balcony from which to enjoy the view. I was there to relax and it was perfect for that. By the time I was ready for a drink Ramone, the bartender, was ready to serve me and entertain me! Being a solo traveller it is great when you find a place where you instantly feel comfortable and when that place is right on the ocean, it is a bonus.

Room Tip: All rooms have ocean views so you can't go wrong although the 2nd floor is probably a touch bett...

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in July and were very happy with the hotel for what we payed. The staff were extremely friendly - especially Rimon our bartender/waiter - he went out of his way to make us feel welcome and was fantastic with his customer service. The room we had at the start of our stay was good although the shower door didn't seem to block much of the water that was spraying all onto the floor so we had to use one of the towels to mop up the water. We ended up getting moved into a larger room with a better shower - bonus! We had a great view of the sea from our room. We ended up staying over the time when they had lots of weddings/events on out on the grass infront of our room so one night we didn't get much sleep with the music from the wedding right outside. This wasn't too much of a problem for us as we were happy to stay up as we were on holiday anyway...Was interesting seeing all the wedding set ups too.
The food here was great - very tasty and affordable and you definitely got a lot of food for what you payed for. They didn't have much in the way of wine in stock which was a shame, but ended up trying out the local beer instead which was good.
They had free wifi in the restaurant/bar area which was good. Unfortunately we had no access to a landline phone in the hotel which was not so good when I found out my cellphone couldn't get any signal.
The hotel was tidy and our second room was a good size - no air con but that wasn't a big deal as it wasn't too extremely hot when we stayed.

Booking.com does an excellent job in hiding and faking all the disadvantages of this hotel!
There is not Air Conditioned; There is not cable( Only one channel), Swimming Pool is too small,The hotel is and feels old and maintenance is not at the top.
Advantage: Nice view of the Ocean and access to the beach ( have to take a hard look)

Room Tip: Negotiate the price of this hotel for $39.00 per night which should be a fair price for the present...

It may well be one of the big secrets of Rosarito.

Tucked in a quiet street, it presents all the rustic charm of old-world Mexico. The red tiles, the pueblo architecture, the wrought-iron bed.

I liked sleeping and waking up to the changing colors of Rosarito sky.

Amazingly, it is well-kept, and allergen-free during my stay.

The best part is that it's close to horseback rides, ATV excursions, and authentic restaurants in the area.

Immense and wonderful views, incredible private beach with cave. Was quoted 60, then 50, and finally 40 dollars for a room with a single bed. Other, newer, cleaner hotels in neighborhood cost 20.

Location is to die for, great staff, better bar, and best views. Room was less than clean though, it SMELLED dirty and damp. I did'nt get bitten by any bedbugs though. Ran outta there early AM trying to beat border lines on a sunday morning.

I'd go back just for the beach and the decent bar. Ignore that nasty pool and get down the cliffs to the water.
