Second time at Bobby's by the Sea tonight. The smell of fresh garlic will reach you first as they broil your garlic bread to perfection. The tilapia in pistachio cream sauce was to die for. Last time, I had the coconut shrimp which has flavor upon flavor without the need for that thick gooey sauce you usually find. The view is beautiful whether you sit out on the patio or the glassed in room with the spectacular view. Our party also order the Chuey's burger, which is a throw back to the original restaurant on the site. Quality food at great prices. Ask for Joaquin. He will make sure your glass is never empty, your food is hot and delicious with a smile and service that is second to none. We didn't try the Mexican food on the menu, but Joaquin told us to give them a call a day or so ahead and they would make chili rellenos for us, as they aren't on the menu. Really! For sure we will be back to try those!!

“It's ok... pretty but ok”
Reviewed 28 May 2013

Casual, relaxing bar. Restaurant is small and cozy. Not too crazy about the food but overall the ambiance is relaxing and fun to hang out if you don't want to be in a crowded bar

“Always a great place to eat and/or stay”
Reviewed 22 May 2013

This restaurant (under new ownership recently) is a great place to eat and/or stay - The food and service is excellent and the prices are also great... They have expanded over the last year or so and it's a much larger place now..

“Italy in Mexico”
Reviewed 24 March 2013

This is the second time I've been to Bobby's, the first being a long time ago. They have been in business a while, and in Mexico that usually means it's pretty good.

I don't really recall my last visit as far as taste, so apparently it didn't leave a great impression. We came in on a Saturday night and it was relatively quite. Maybe it was because it was the weekend before Easter. The good thing was that we got sat immediately.

I started off with a Margarita and we got a basket of garlic bread. The Margarita was OK, and didn't have much of a kick. The bread was basically and baguette sliced up with butter, garlic and roseay, but overall good. We went with Fettuccini Alfredo and the penne with smoked chicken, mushrooms and olives. The entrees come with a french onion soup or a romaine salad. We went with the soup and again, so far so good. It consisted of broth, onions, and a slice of baguette bread topped with cheese.

The meals came out and they had good presentation. However, as far as flavor, it was pretty average. We could be spoiled due to having great Italian option where were from. Therefore, the meal itself did not blow us away.

Other than that, they had a nice bar and the service was spot on. Maybe we caught them on an off night.

“Very good food”
Reviewed 14 August 2012

Bobby's is a very welcoming restaurant. The food is expertly seasoned and thoughtfully prepared.
The french onion soup was very tasty with just the right balance of cheese, bread and a good, hearty broth. The salad was fresh and crunchy and had a light but delicious ranch dressing. The swodrfish was very fresh and garlicky and had a side of linguini which could have been jazzed up a bit with more garlic and a hit of parmesan cheeese, but was good nonetheless. Dessert was the chef's take on Creme Brulee- though not traditional it was cool and light and a great finish to a great meal.
