“Not what I thought it would be.”
Reviewed 7 October 2004

We booked a 2 bed 2 bath condo in one on the privately owned condos expecting the same high standards as the units owned by the timeshare and were greatly disappointed. We stayed in upstairs unit # 189 on October 1st, 2004. On the positive side it was very quiet, had a great ocean view, cable TV, new stove/oven and was insect free. On the negative, the front door lock was broken we needed to prop a chair under the door handle, TV remote controls broken or in need of batteries, when we opened the living room drapes the curtain rod fell down so we had little privacy, all of the plants and there are many in the unit were dead or dying, there seemed to be a layer of dust on everything, very dark inside both bathrooms and even darker inside the master bedroom even with all the lights turned on. We were instructed to bring our own towels and soap, however there was no place to hang the towels as all of the towel rods and hooks were broken in both bathrooms. Also one of the showers drained very slowly and overflowed. After flushing one of the toilets the pipes would whistle and bang loudly for several minutes. The king size bed in the master bedroom was very uncomfortable the springs were coming right through the mattress, the sheets were very old, mismatched and tattered, the blanket had several holes and the pillows were very flat. The second bedroom was no better with very small sunken in twin size beds and old burned candles on the tables. The kitchen had left over food on the counter from the previous guests that seemed to be very old since it too was covered in dust. Overall for $195 a night we would not stay in the privately owned unit # 189 again until the owner does some maintenance, gets new beds and hires someone to give it a thorough cleaning.

We stayed at La Paloma from 24th to 31st July, 2004 in a beautiful WIVC 2 bed, 2 bath condo which we booked over the internet on the recommendation of Trip Advisor! We had a very relaxing vacation. The resort was self contained with the beach, pools, sport activities and restaurant on site. Highly recommended if you want a very quiet stay. Staff were very friendly, if strict (don't leave your towel hanging over the balcony!), but the security is excellent.

We've stayed at La Paloma 4x in the past 3 yrs., taking friends and family each time. We've enjoyed our 2br/2ba condo (Worldmark) as well as an ocean view villa so much that we are considering buying a full ownership villa! We went 7/31 just for the day. Very relaxing. To the south of the resort is greatly improved paved road, wonderful things to see & do. Location allows us to park and walk to town or to the south. Fabulous view drive to Ensenada.

I stayed with friends at La Paloma July 15-17, 2004. Just wonderful! The grounds are very well maintained, office staff was friendly and helpful.
Highlights: wonderful beach/sand area...vendors are there every day shopping their wares from hairbraiding to temporary henna tattoos...had to say "gracias, no" muchas veces (many times). My friend had a timeshare via WorldMark, and the room was in great shape. Beatris in housekeeping was terrific. Security was true to their name: secure. They verified each person coming through the gates. I left my car parked there the whole time and nothing happened to it.
Lowlights: my room faced the facilities area and every morning at 6:30a.m. the employees were talking at very high volume...walking right by my window on their way to the laundry facility, which happened to be at the end of our hallway--not good customer service.

Overall, I would definitely recommend La Paloma to anyone who wants to come and have fun in Rosarito!

We came here for the weekend with our 3 kids and a friend and everyone loved it. The 2 bedroom unit we had was clean and everything was in good working order. The whole complex is very well maintained, with nice landscaping and clean pools. We stayed here based on the other tripadvisor reviews, and I'm glad we did! Will definitely come back.

This was a 2 family outing. We stayed in unit 315 (owned by Worldmark). A 2 bedroom/2 bath unit. It was clean and well furnished. The resort has multiple pools and jacuzzis. There are rec rooms and saunas. The staff was very helpful and nice.
