We ate here during a recent stay at Las Rocas just up the road. This is a charming French/Mediterranean place with a beautiful patio right on the water. Not very expensive, but bring cash as they do not yet take credit cards. I had a tomato, spinach & feta linguine which was good, my husband had a rich seafood ravioli & my son had their excellent hamburger with parmesan fries. We shared a Caesar salad which was very good.

The drinks were also a particular highlight - mine was a cucumber margarita made from scratch & it was awesome! My husband had a boutique beer with a vanilla essence. Sounds odd, but it was good. Try this place out if you are in the area. It's worth it...

Sometimes when you're traveling in Mexico you want to try something other than Mexican food. Sometimes it turns out just fine, other times it's disappointing. This place was very disappointing, and shows how Americans have almost ruined northern Baja by trying to turn it into south San Diego - the standard menu is printed in English, the overpriced entrees are a mix of anything but Mexican, Bob Marley music is blaring on the sound system, and the bill comes U.S. dollars. If you like Marley and a great view of the popular K38 surf spot, and are willing to pay $11 for a hamburger with cold French fries, you may not complain. My wold mushroom soup was so oversalted it was inedible, but my organic baby spinach salad was very good. The filet of sole was decent. Nice complimentary humus. The waiter tried to get the kitchen to make mushroom soup without the added salt, but the replacement bowl simply had more water. They did adjust the bill by comping the weak Margaritas, and the waiter was graciously apologetic. The menu and these prices are something I expect to see at a clip joint in the USA, and maybe that's what is happening to some places in Northern Baja that cater to Americans, particular surfers.

Went here with friends with high hopes. Our friends had been several times before and spoke highly of it. We had to sit outside because it was full inside. It was a little cool and we needed a heater. While our meal was okay, definitely not the standard mexican fare, it was just okay for what we had. We had several appetizers, an entrée salad, and the seafood pasta. The food was reasonably good but the price was really quite high for what we got. We have not gone back. Too many other places to check out. The breakfast menu did look good and those prices seemed more reasonable.

Went to Calypso Sunday am around 11. Not too busy but were seated a nd had to wait way too long for coffee. Food order was fairly quick and always delicious. Only problem and we have experienced this before. Waiters disappear after serving second cups of coffee and waiting for a bill take forever. Frustrating they can't put it all together because the food is great.
