Waves are gentle & water is shallow for a good distance. We were there on a Monday & had the beach all to ourselves!

We were down for two weeks in March, great weather, water was perfect, lots of folks enjoying themselves. I made it to the beach on 10 of the 12 days I was in town.

Although it was Spring Break for some, I never found it crowded. Nor are there crowds of vendors on the beach, if you are not interested, they get the message and leave you alone.

We are fortunate that there are life guards on this beach, and yes they are watching out. I saw them see a group in a little bit of stress, and they were johnny on the spot.

Unlike most beaches in Los Cabos, you can actually swim on this one. Just pay attention to the flags, they mark the safer area to swim when the current gets a little strong.

If you want to keep budget a little lower, I recommend stopping and picking up some of your refreshments before you hit the beach. Although I have always had great food and service at the Beach Club it can get pricey. Everything in US dollars and they get 6 bucks for a beer. Stop at Brody's on the last dirt road to the beach. They are located about half way to the beach.

During this trip, there were lots of surfers, many giving it a try for the first time. We took advantage of the massages on the beach. A great experience. They get about $40.00 US, A whole lot cheaper than the resorts in Cabo, and a much more unique experience. I had a couple during the trip. Gaby does a great job.

The beach club charges a $5.00 parking fee, unless you spend a few bucks with them. You can park for free on either side of the beach club for free.

There are several options for surf boards and bogie boards on the beach, you might want to comparison shop.

Another great benefit of this beach, is that when it gets real hot in Cabo, it is about 10-15 degree F, cooler on this beach. It makes it real comfortable in the heat of the summer.

There are several options for staying on the beach, or just a quick walk away, I would recommend planning an outing on Cerritos Beach during your next trip.

The surf beach at Cerritos is amazing. I am still a beginner and loved and and there were plenty of more experienced surfers at the back. Beware of the currents though, you can quickly be swept along from where you went in, but as long as we were aware this wasn't a problem for us.

There are a number of different outlets for renting boards, we went to the one behind the hotel, where you can also used the showers there. We found the surf shack to have good quality boards and our stuff was secure there to leave whilst we surfed.

Don't eat at the restaurant on the beach, the food is not good and very overpriced. There is a restaurant just up the dirt road from the beach called coco loco which offers excellent fresh food at reasonable prices.

Despite the peddlers (less than Medano Beach) we really liked this place. Shallow area with gentler surf for boogie boarding and my teenager learned to surf with the help of a lesson. The beach club is average but if you agree to spend 100 pesos (about $8 US) you park for free (beware the soft sandy areas though). They will get you under umbrellas and into chairs. There is an outdoor shower to rinse off and the bathrooms are clean. Beer is cold and food is ok. Walk up the stone steps to the Hotel Cerritos and have a cocktail by the pool overlooking the Pacific!

We spent an afternoon hanging at Playa Los Cerritos. Walking the beach, playing in the surf and just relaxing. The surf can be a bit rough for those that are inexperienced, but it is still a lot fun. The water was colder here on the Pacific coast than in the Sea of Cortez, much colder than Jamaica or Hawaii I thought. Still, refreshing and good service from the beachside restaurant.
