We were able to attend a service there on this visit and it was interesting to be able to experience a Mexican Catholic service. Although we are not nearly fluent in the language, we were welcomed as any parishioner would be. The people who attended the 6pm service on Sunday were varied and it was evident they were mostly locals.
The priest was casual yet comfortable in his duties. His sermon was geared towards the audience and he addressed his flock with a message that was geared towards his community. It is refreshing to see that 'class' has no boundaries in church.
The altar design has been 'updated', I believe and I liked the abstract-like representation of the cross.
