“Not worth the price”
Reviewed 23 February 2014

Our room was a suite located on the bottom floor. The room was big and decorated nicely...problem...noise. You could hear the traffic, restaurant, children screaming (7am). Our balcony also looked onto dirty rooftops, not pleasant. The rooftop was lovely, except the pool was freezing. Our kids couldn't swim. Also, the "beach club" is non existent. They looked at us like we were crazy when we asked to go there. Stay somewhere else if want a good nights sleep and some beach time.

We apologize for any disturbance caused by neighborhood children or traffic. We are located downtown, and what goes on outside is not in our control. Unfortunately, you visited while the pool heater was being serviced. Our new beach club will be open within the next two months. There is a letter placed in each room explaining that it's under construction. Thank you for your visit and your comments.

What a delightful inn - beautifully restored, friendly and capable staff and well appointed accommodations. The lobby area is spacious, art filled and conducive to relaxing. Do not miss out on the roof top terrace - beautiful sunsets, delicious tapas and a jazz combo played both Friday and Saturday evenings. The breakfast offerings served in the main floor dining area were varied and some items reflected Mexican flavours. On the Sunday morning of our stay, Todos Santos featured a charity Art Walk - some interesting galleries and workshops were open to the public. A definite destination for our future visits to this area.

Room Tip: Try for the second floor room, away from the corner as traffic noise could be a problem.

I generally agree with the many positive reviews -- the room was big, clean, well-appointed (though not luxurious) and comfortable. Great shower. Charming lobby area, and nice restaurant for breakfast (which was all we had here). Will note two quirks: One is that our room was right next to the restaurant, which provided some unwelcome auditory input at times. Also, there is a live jazz performance going on at the rooftop bar, which I can easily hear in my room two floors down; I'm ready to go do bed and wish the music would stop. Also, it is odd that we found no little shampoos, body washes, etc. in the bathroom. No big deal, but a little striking for a fairly upscale hotel like this. Overall, I still give this very nice hotel 4 out of 5 -- but if you're sensitive to noise, be forewarned that it could be an issue, depending on where your room is.

A charming hotel located in a great location in Todos Santos.

A lovely, quiet rooftop balcony, beautifully-restored property, hard-working staff and a great accommodation overall.

We did try to find their day-beach location (as that the hotel is located downtown) but couldn't figure it out even after talking to the Front Desk several times. None of the locals knew where it was either... They could use some better signage for their day-beach location (or a create a map). Although I must admit the cool part was our several-hour hikes to find the beach location were great exploration...

I'd definitely return!

To stay at this hotel is to walk into the arms and loving embrace of the real Mexico. Staying here you will experience the gentle nature and class of the Mexican people. I hope this hotel maintains the Mexican experience. Time slows down as you walk through the doors and our room was huge and beautiful. We felt as though we were staying with a family in their spacious hacienda. We had to leave very early in the morning to catch our flight and I mentioned this to the staff. All the staff arrived very early and we were served breakfast under the stars and the staff made sure the taxi knew where we were going and we were given a warm send-off. Whenever we sunned on the rooftop the staff would find us and offer tapas or drinks. In the dining room the young waiter would stand discretely in the corner waiting to fill our glass as soon as it was half empty. You were constantly aware of their willingness to please and accommodate your every need. If you are looking for a north american hotel and experience don't come here, it is not for you and you would not appreciate this hotel. This is for the cognoscenti who understand and appreciate the charm, culture and warmth of the Mexican people and this fabulous country.

Really tried to stay at this hotel, it looks amazing. Called the hotel three times and emailed too. Talked to nice people but there was no follow up. Guess they don't need the business. We moved on to another location and are looking forward to an amazing trip to cabo in a few weeks

Guaycura is a great little hotel in Todos Santos. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and spacious. We had a corner room with a view of two very nice streets in town. The food is good and you can enjoy a nice drink at the rooftop terrace next to a pool with great view. The only two things we would have appreciated are a better A/C in the room and faster meal service with more experienced waiters. The town is nice but not many things to do other than explore the nearby beaches. We enjoyed having a selection of movies at the hotel for a quiet night.
