Just returned from a 4 night stay. The hotel is beautiful and we hope to return soon. Our room over-looked Cerritos beach and we spent one day just enjoying the views from
There and the pool. The staff is very attentive, the bartender Greg is great fun, and you can't help but have a nice time. Our room was cleaned every day with frash towels and linens. Yes, no food, but nearby Todos and Pescadore have some real treasures.

I think I can "ditto" most of what others have said. Rent a Jeep from Cabo as dirt road to property is remote but not managable in a small compact car (funny - all of them are white) - will be difficult and daunting at nite so best to arrive during day.

There's not a bad room but the north & south penthouse rooms are spectacular. Staff was visible and attentive to needs and constantly cleaning. November weather was cool mornings and evenings and cool in the shade during the day. We brought in food, water and snacks but they truck in the water daily so really the water is fine. Full kitchen to cook if you want and easy to make friends with other guests to have a dinner nite and share the menu. Manager Arturo and bartender Paolo were amazing, friendly and a pleasure. You'll also meet the two house kittys who if your door is open in the morning to hear the surf and watch the sunrise will hop in bed with you to greet the morning and snuggle. A great place to disconnect from all your technology as wifi access is minimul but available. Nice to also go down to Surf Colony Resort (sister property) as bar grille serves good and plentiful food and pool beds for laying out and napping the day away. Drink and food prices on both properties are not super cheap but local beer is - $2. Most places you go will give USD prices and many US people live and own businesses there. There is a restaurant on the beach between properties but not recommended for more than drinks and during the day inexpensive massages offered.

Cerritos Beach is soooooo nice...really great beginners surfing place, rocky area to explore the tidepools; this beach during the week is not crowded (at least in Nov) and kept clean. Surf board rental everyday available also about $15-$20 day.

Todo Santos is 8 miles away with good restaurants (Las Tapas Casita & Santa Fe Cafe recommended) Typical mexico shopping for jewelry & souviners but shop owners annoying so you just have to ignore them and go where you want. Todo has some nice local artist shops/galleries if you want to bring something unique home. Stay away from small roadside bars/restaurants unless you are a little more adventurous and want to meet locals.

Good place for romantic gettaway, electronic disconnecting, family - felt safe, friendly locals and good value.

Loved this place so much came home and booked another future stay.

Room Tip: would recommend upstairs rooms for best views but all rooms are nice and very spacious.

This property is located in the most spectacular setting near Todos Santos likely to be unrivaled anywhere along the coast! When you arrive it literally takes your breath away - a palatial gorgeous building, with high quality furnishings, artwork, even a secret staircase to the tower.
The house/hotel itself has huge private rooms with enormous baths and kitchenettes.

Unfortunately the kitchenettes need daily tending to, as they have a cockroach problem. This was addressed during our stay, but they need regularly scheduled maintenance to avoid this problem. The property seems unfinished which is why the price is so low. With some small improvements - this is definitely worth $400-$500 a night. The sheets and towels while clean, all had bleach stains on them. My sense is the hotel is clean but the bug issue needs regular attention for 2 reasons: 1. guests bring their own food (you want to because there are no meals provided at hotel) and as a result the leftover food is not properly stored. 2. This is coastal Mexico in a remote area so of course there are bugs - but this can be controlled with thorough maintenance.

There are several outdoor jacuzzi's along the meandering infinity pools - again gorgeous, but none of them were operating during our stay and mosquitoes were accumulating in them. Sad.

The pool seemed clean and a part-time bartender showed up in the late afternoons when guests were joined by curiosity seekers from the nearby Cerritos Surf club, etc.

Our room had a gas fireplace but it was not finished. The morning cleaning woman made a large pot of coffee each morning for guests, which was a small gesture on the hotel's part, but appreciated.

Overall should you stay here? If you think of it as staying at a wealthy old friends house who doesn't have the staff to fully maintain the place, or luxury camping (because you need to bring your own food).... would you pay $100 a night at a luxury tent camp, or a remote castle somewhere? Then this is by far a much better experience and a magical setting - it's cheap, it's over-the-top gorgeous - I'd recommend it just for the location alone.
Just lower your expectations - put it this way - when this hotel gets all fully-functional - you won't be able to afford to stay there! Stay there now when it's a total budget travellers dream place!

If you go - do check out Art&Beer - located just a 5 minute drive south. Incredible bar/garden/great conversation place! bring your mosquito repellent and camera! Worth it!!!!

Room Tip: The south rooms face the beach and surfer activity. The north rooms face the spectacular rocks/clif...

I recently spent four nights and five days at Hacienda Cerritos (HC). My friend bought a bloomspot deal for $389 for four nights. Four of us split the cost and stayed in the North Master room which had a king bed, a very large bathroom and walk in closet. Three of us shared the bed and then we requested a small mattress for our other friend. Before getting to HC I read a lot of the reviews on this site and was very concerned. However, I was pleasantly surprised. As previous reviewers have stated this is not a corporate resort hotel (Westin, Hilton, etc). It is a small 10 room boutique hotel. Our sheets were changed daily and all staff were incredibly helpful. Helpful things to know: there is only one restaurant near by and it's just okay, not great. Better to head into Todos Santos for food. You can also purchase food to cook at HC because it has two full kitchens. You definitely need a car to get to HC and to get to Todos Santos. I would not pay full price ($545 a night) to stay at HC. If you can get some kind of Groupon/Living Social/Etc deal it's very worth it. HC has amazing views and is incredibly relaxing. I would go again.

We made our return visit to the Surf Colony and the Hacienda (see my review from May). We fell in love with this place then and were not disappointed on our return. This time we split our stay between the Colony and the Hacienda.

Upon our arrival we were persomally greated by many of the folks that we met the prior stay. From Bob the Brewer who actually approached us out of nowhere on the beach our first morning, to Gregorio and Cristo from the Hacinda. Absolutely amazing that they could remember us on site from May, but they did.

The ownership has made some middle management changes to correct some of the visitor isses and I would say that this was a big positive. Heather and Nick assisted us at the Colony with our questions and gave us some very interesting eating options in Todos Santos that we did not know from our earlier trip. The newly hired and very lovely Hanna met us our second day and provided us all the assitance at the Hacienda for the last days of our split stay.

As stated ... no this is NOT a tourist trap type hotel like down in Cabo. You are NOT continually harrased by someone trying to sell you something or by snobby tourist types. If THAT is what you are looking for, please do not stay here. If you are looking for perfection in ameneties ... do not stay here. If you want to fall asleep with the sound of the ocean emitting through a door with unobstructed views of the surf (and surfers) then stay here. At the Colony, we stayed in a 2 bedroon palapa with the master bedroom facing the ocean ... Perfect. For the end of the week we moved up to the Hacienda and stayed in the North Penthouse with perfect views of the sunset as well as numerous whales ... Perfect.

All of the negative items hat are referred to in most of the reviews are based on fact but VERY exagerated. All are very forgetable by the location and the friendly service provided by the Staff. None of the issues caused us to ruin our stay. I personally think the other reviewers need to look at what they expected to get and realize what they do get by simply giving up some of their life that they are on vacation to avoid. A short drive to Cabo can return all of that to them fairly quickly.

Again, could not be more pleased and are already planning a return in May and October of next year. As I said before ... "you can checkout, but you never leave".

We just spent 4 nights of relaxation and romance at the Hacienda. I would say this is not for everyone and definitely not for children. The setting is beautiful and juts out over the Pacific Ocean. The pool is beautiful with a very nice swim up bar. The place is isolated and somewhat difficult to find down a dirt road but that adds to its charm. The town of Todos Santos is 10-15 minutes away with wonderful art galleries and great restaurants including La Casita. Tiles are broken and hammocks are torn, so this is not the Ritz and if you expect that you will be disappointed. If you come with an open mind you will have a great timel

Room Tip: The North penthouse sits right over the Pacific and the waves sound like they are in your room.

What a find! This is a 'Hacienda' which is a mansion with 10 rooms, there are two big equipped kitchens and most of the rooms have a fridge and microwave too. It was so personal and homely there and the people we met were amazing, we all had the same thing in mind- relax and be away from it all. This place is not for those who want to be waited on 24h, it's down a dirt road and not fully serviced, but that was the charm of this place. If you need to know anything Gregorio is the bartender and he is amazing. We bought fresh fish from fishermen and drank at local bars because he advised us where to go. Our last night we met him for food and drinks after he was done because we felt that we'd met a good friend. This place was like a home for a week, romantic, friendly, clean, amazing views from the rooms. Just perfect.
Only bad thing: Our car rental was around $400 because of insurance and you NEED a car to stay here- not the Hacienda's fault but worth knowing.

Room Tip: We saw all the rooms and the best one was Bungalow No. 1 because it has a private pool and faces sou...
