“Todos Santos Oasis”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 January 2014

Just finished 5 nights here and would love to return. Spectacular grounds and landscaping that are meticulously maintained including saline pool, jacuzzi, ample lounge chairs and hammocks for sun or shade, etc. Gorgeous and serene views everywhere of the adjacent lagoon and Pacific Ocean. The terrace bar or our balcony (room 21) were perfect for sunsets. Speaking of our room, we loved the beds and bedding — foam mattresses, thick down comforters — and all the other creature comforts. Also loved the eggs at breakfast — Rachera or Mexicana. Nice off-the-beaten-path location but a quick drive to Todos Santos or down the road to Pescadero or Cerritos. Friendly, helpful proprietors and staff all around.

Room Tip: Room 21 has 2 Queen beds and a nice little balcony!

The Swiss couple that owns and runs this hotel has created a botanical garden in the hardscape of the Pacific coast of Baja Sur. The rooms have everything you would want--extremely comfortable, bright Mexican fabrics, views of the ocean through the palm trees and garden. Very attentive service, you never want for anything. The bird sanctuary offers great entertainment for enthusiasts and you can sit on the roof top patio having lunch and watch the endless migration of whales, one spout after another. I saw no reason to go into Todos Santos except to see the owner's art gallery. Lovely place in a rugged part of the world, far away from the charged atmosphere of Cabo, or from the places taken over by groups of fishermen on vacation. A real find for those who want a quiet place to get away. Better if you have your own car, which I did not, so you can explore the surrounding area.

We stayed one night at Posada La Poza and would have loved to have more time. The owners were very accommodating, allowing us to checkin early and enjoy the grounds before our room was ready. The following morning we were up early on a whale watching trip and the owners and staff held the breakfast late for our return. The beach is amazing, peaceful and quiet.the gardens are beautiful and the room very comfortable and clean. It is a short walk to watch the baby turtle release which was a great experience. Dinner was also very nice. We will definitely return!

My new husband and I can't say enough about Posada La Poza. This will easily be one of the best places you'll ever stay! The food is incredible, the people are amazing and the scenery is to die for. I highly recommend getting one of the top floor suites, the unobstructed view of the carefully landscaped grounds and pristine (and totally private) ocean is totally worth it. Do yourself a favour and spoil yourself with one of everything on their food and beverage menu and amazing. There is nothing in town that compares to what Juerg creates in that kitchen! Libusche is the most gracious host. We totally fell in love with her little touches all over the hotel and in our room, her ability to combine her exquisite european style with traditional mexican flare was a feast for the senses...I felt like I couldn't put my camera down! We can't wait to return and HIGHLY recommend this lovely boutique hotel to anyone looking for a zen getaway from it all.

Room Tip: Every room is amazing!

We stayed at Posada La Poza on out way from Cabo to La Paz for two nights. This small hotel is delightfully situated where the only sounds are the surf, the singing of birds and silence. The landscaped grounds, designed by the artist/owner, are beautiful, as are he swimming pool and the rooms. There is a path to the beach, where we walked for hours. The owners are very friendly and accomodating, the staff is very professional and courteous, and the food is consistently wonderful. So we cut short our trip to La Paz and came back for two more days. This oasis will definitely be on our list of favorite places. Tip: the best beach swimming is all the way south to where the rock head-wall comes down -- clean, warm, and calm water.

Room Tip: The second floor balconies give incredible sunset views.

My partner and I spent a week in Cabo and on the tail end checked in here for a night. The husband and wife couple who run this place are amazing! So kind and welcoming. Our room was lovely, the grounds are breathtaking and the attention to detail fantastic. The food was soooooooo good! The pool so beautiful and refreshing plus they have the best outdoor ping pong table I have ever had the pleasure of playing on. Truly wish we would have stayed at least 3 nights. Really I cannot say enough about this place. If you are looking for tranquility and beauty and a real escape in Baja you must go here. What a gem!

From the moment we arrived at Posada la Poza a couple weeks ago, we knew we were somewhere very special. We saw amazing views of the ocean and fresh water lagoon (agua dulce), wandered through pomegranate, palm, and plumeria trees to our comfortable rooms, and swam in probably the nicest swimming pool we have ever used (it is a large, warm, filtered salt water pool big enough to swim laps or just cool off in). And the meals at Posada la Poza were easily the best we had in all of Todos Santos - especially dinner and drinks from the second story terrace. But perhaps the best part of our Posada la Poza experience was our hosts. This wonderful couple made sure our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible - and it was. We've been traveling to Mexico for close to 50 years and most of the hotels we have stayed in have the usual sounds of Mexico (barking dogs, speakers blaring from car roofs, crowing roosters and the Mexican army band practicing at 7:00am). You will not hear any of these things in this peaceful paradise. You will want a car to get around in as the town and the swimmable beaches are too far to walk to. Other than that, it is an ideal place to stay - a sanctuary for birds and travelers.
