Get here early so the great stuff isn't sold out! Everything is good, but the tamales sell out quickly so get there before noon!

We asked a local realtor where he always eats and this is the place he recommended. If I can find a small family run restaurant in a out-of-the-way place I am in heaven. Like the title says - Like eating in Grandma's kitchen - Lots of love in this food. Had the dorado fish tacos and bacon eggs and pancakes. I am already setting my taste buds for December 2014...

We just happened to stumble across this delightful little restaurant our first morning visiting Todos Santos. We came in from the Cerritos beach area (see our review of Hacienda Cerritos) in search of shopping and eating. Basically not knowing anything about any of the dining establishments in Todos Santos we were getting famished and desperate. We parked on a side street and saw this little open front restaurant and, despite some initial misgivings, thought 'what the heck, let's give it a shot!' And were we glad we did! The proprietor, Manny, was friendly and helpful and gave an honest exchange rate for converting dollars to pesos. The food prepared by Alma was excellent! The conviviality of Alma and Manny was inspiring and we engaged in lengthy and interesting discussions about their background as well as what to do in the area. We enjoyed the meal and the conversation so much we came back again and chose Alma and Manny's for our last evening meal before we had to fly out the next day. The whole family is friendly and amiable with their guests and we shared quite a few laughs while we dined. I should also mention the prices were exceptionally reasonable and the portions were quite generous.

Don't let looks fool you. Although the place is small with just a few tables and doesn't look like much from the outside don't let that deter you from enjoying a meal (or two or three) here. Also, you are eating al fresco or semi-al fresco which adds to the ambience of hospitality and general spirit of congeniality exuded by the owners. We prefer to eat outside in the fresh air so this was right up our alley.

The only cautionary note is that the banos is pretty much what you would expect from this region which means don't expect much. But that does not distract at all from the experience of the excellent quality of the food and the attentive service provided by Manny and Alma. In fact, it kind of reinforced to us the authenticity of the experience of true Mexican dining. The focus is on the quality of the food and the enjoyment of the meal with those around you, not on secondary issues like bathrooms and other superficialities.

The bottom line: this was our favorite place to eat while we were there in the Cerritos area and we ate at many different restaurants. We can, and do, recommend Alma and Manny's restaurant highly, without reservation!

This restaurant recently moved (is now located 2 blocks from the mission) and the name changed to Alma & Many. It's small and busy but Many met us at the entrance and agreed to save a table for us as soon as one became available. We went there with some friends so there were 4 of us in total. We had plenty to eat and 7 beer between us, but the bill was only $34 US! The food was excellent - tried a fajita, a burrito, a fried chicken taco and chicken enchiladas - which were fresh, soft and oh-so tasty! Their home-made salsa is a memory to behold - my husband used too much on his fajita and then called for a fire truck! We will definitely return to this spot and recommend it to all our winter friends here in the Baja.

One day for lunch we decided to stray off the beaten path and look for a local eatery. We had read that this place was good, but that was an understatement. The restaurant is tiny and we had sever people in our party. Manny met us and helped arrange tables. Most of the party ordered the tamales while I tried the enchiladas. Everyone who had the tamales said they were the best they had ever eaten and two people in our group ordered an additional meal so they could have more. The margarita drinkers in our group also said that this place serves the best margaritas in Todos Santos. The owners are great. Alma and her sister did the cooking. It's definitely worth a visit.
