“close to the consulate”
Reviewed 17 April 2014

probably should have done more research before booking. good value for sure but I would have rather spent a little more for more bells and whistles. other reviews raved about the restaurant but it was not open on sunday and breakfast was not good.
If you don't drin coffee I guess its no problem but but advised there is none in the rooms and only after 7 am. If you are there for the consulate services which most people are your appointments usually require you to leave the hotel prior to 7 a.m. I coffee pot in the lobby would be a slam dunk but??? Maybe not many people drink coffee in the morning. LOL.

Room Tip: South end or middle of building. North end is where taxi's park and drivers congregate noise tra...

For those needing to go to the Consulate I completely recommend this hotel. GREAT staff and wonderful restaurant on site (try the frijol soup!). Beds were hard but value was great and location is only a block from the consulate the hotel will even provide free taxi service for your appointments!

This is our second time here, both times for immigration stuff. The pros are cleanliness, very safe, restaurant and pool on site, price (about $45 a night) and it is close to the consulate and a large mall. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Also the bathrooms are nice but no bathtub. The cons are a very busy street next to the hotel (makes it hard to cross the street), hard beds, and minimal furniture in the room. No table to sit at or fridge/micro! There are many hotels in the area but we chose to return to El Conquistador for the price and location. Also, the restaurant has a variety of options, local cuisine and a few americanized dishes.

We went to Juarez for the visa tramits and before we made reservations we researched in this web site and the other hotels didn't have a good review. The hotel decoration is average and is a little old but it's nice, the receptionist needed to speak a little bit more english, but they were very nice. The only thing that we didn't like at all, they didn't have plugs to connect your laptop or charge your cell next to your bed, i had to go and charge my laptop close to the bathroom and leave the cells charging there, we went to complain to the front desk and they gave us and old extension cord and the manteinance guy had to move the hedboard of the bed (it was very heavy, even for him) and plugged in the cord.

Something "very good" was the Taxi Service, the drivers were very polite, helpfull and they took really good care of us, Pablo and his brother are the best. They take you for free to the appoinments, to the consulate, the hospital and the fingerprints and when you finished just call to the hotel and they pick you up. They will charge you for different destinations but that is ok. We pay the whole package for the last thing in the hotel, Pablo or his brother (i don't remember who) took us to the DHL to pick up the visa, then to the Border and he knew what to do, he showed us the where the office was, talked to a guard and we didn't have to wait in a long line, then he took us to El Paso and also took us to a convinience store and then to the bus station. He helped us so much and all the time he was very nice and polite. Deffinetely the best of the hotel was the transportation. We talked to a couple that stayed at the Ibis hotel and they complained about many things of the hotel.
We recommend this hotel, they make you to feel safe.

I was not convinced I would stay the whole week, at this hotel. I'm one to look around and ask questions. As soon as we got there,I made up my mind. We were treated like we were special. Isn't that what everyone wants? I had to change our rooms (we had 2), as soon as we got there. No problem. They were fast and friendly. The maid service..Claudia was very nice. She kept our room spotless. She also helped me fix my bed, b/c I have muscle spasms. The driver Jose Luis, was very patient and took us to several appointments. There's another driver with red hair, that's also very nice. He took us to pick up documents and made sure we did what we should. Alondra in the cafe was very attentive, they all were! Sonya,Cesar, and Diana up front, were also VERY attentive. The service I received here was a lot more than you'd expect from a $56 dollar a nt hotel. Resonably priced, breakfast included, very close to ALL us embassy appointments, and a nice little mall w/ a movie theatre. I would ONLY stay here, and look forward to going back. We highly recommend!!

Room Tip: At the end of halls or mid-hall. Not 1st floor(too busy)
