We barely got within 50' of the place when Ruffino saw us coming and gave us a very warm welcome. The staff here with Gustavo and Ruffino have always been a major reason along with some good food are why we continue to return to this restaurant.

I must try something other then the combo plate sometime but it is just so good. The Arrachera along with the chili relenos , Tacos and the tortilla with chicken and onions on top are delicious. Not a fan of the guacamole here though as I like mine thick and there seems somewhat watered down which seemed odd.

For starters get the chorizo pizza it is about 100 pesos but will easily feed 3-4. The chorizo is pretty spicy and we all agree that it tastes great.. The Tortuga salad or Acacado salad which has tomato with it are awesome. Funny names though as the Tortuga salad is just Avacado and onions and the Avacado salad is tomato and avacado lol.

The girls were pretty well filled before the meal and took some back to the room as the salad is a pretty good size. Combo plate still about 180 pesos with shrimp slightly more and don't forget to leave room for the coconut ice cream with Kalua. We didn't leave room but we did come back for it on another evening!!!

The owner is amazing! So friendly and personable, he truly makes you feel like an old friend. The food was outstanding!

We went to La Tortuga at the recommendation of our awesome tour guide and driver for the week, Roberto Alarcon (robertoalrey@yahoo.com.mx) for our last night in Acapulco. It was a great experience, Gustavo really made it great, he was so nice and thoughtful and helpful. The margaritas were awesome and you have to have the coconut ice cream. They make it there and it's pretty great.

At the end of dinner, Gustavo's nephew even walked us (five girls) from dinner to the bar area to ensure we were safe. Loved this place!
