“Great food and freindly staff”
Reviewed 9 April 2014 via mobile

We just had dinner at this place and the place was awesome food was plentiful and well prepared and they were freindly and talkative. It is down a poorly lit street, but, once you walk the short block you will be happy with the choice.

“Terrific as always!!”
Reviewed 21 February 2014

We always look forward to dining at La Tortuga the only category you can knock is the atmosphere and people like Gustavo and Ruffino give it that extra point.

I seem to consistently get the same dish there the la totuga salad large plate of Acacado and tomato in a light italian like dressing which we love.

Also the combination platter which is huge and has Chili relenos, Arrachera (terrific), taco, and a sopa with beans guacamole and shredded chicken on top. The meal is top notch and 200 peso. Substitute shrimp for a bit extra.

After her salad my wife got the Mexican or choriza pizza. More of a large appetizer she wanted as a meal. Heaps of choriza on chips with melted queso!! Yumm it was good.

One sad note the famous coconut ice cream is no more!! Apparently the woman who made it does not anymore for some reason. That will be missed!!

“Make sure to visit this restaurant”
Reviewed 7 May 2013

The restaurant isn't very big but the staff is very friendly, the food is very good and it's just a half block off of the costera so it's very safe.

“If you want the best local food, with personal service go here”
Reviewed 29 April 2013

The employees took over this restaurant some time back and they are doing a great job with both the food and service. We had last visited 4 years ago but it was still just as wonderful as before. But it is a local place not usually known to all tourists. Check it out if you like local flavors!
