I have been in Mexico a couple of times, but Alex's property has been my best experience so far. The villa is located about 15 miles from the bay of Acapulco, so you're far enough from the hustle and bustle, yet close enough for getting to the main tourist attractions. The villa is right at the beach, with only a few steps to the ocean, and about half a mile to the lagoon on the other side.
The attention and meals by the caretaker Francisco are absolutely great, fresh fish and seafood from the market, prepared to your like. Rooms are tidy and clean, with well working A/C and WiFi, the beach bar is a must for watching the sunset.
This really is one of the loveliest houses I've stayed at. It has everything you could possibly want, and more. The place itself is a beautifully appointed, architect-designed beach house. It is located actually on the beach, and was designed to let the breath-taking ocean views and breezes flow through-out the bright open spaces. The rooms are clean and modern, with perfect details that complement its proximity to the ocean. We were only two, but it is quite large and can accommodate a group. We are already planning our return with a number of friends that we raved to about this piece of paradise.
From the moment you walk in, you gaze through the tastefully furnished living room and out past the infinity pool, to the sparkling empty beach and turquoise ocean. Alexander is a superb host, and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we could need. His staff is also marvelous and helpful, and the on-site chef cooked us a dinner we are still dreaming about. The house is situated on a strip of land bordered on one side by the ocean and on the other side by a lagoon. The beach itself is practically private, with only an occasional passer-by. I loved the whole vibe of Pie de Cuesta, where the house is. It feels like a small beach town, and I would have liked to explore it a little, except that I was unable to pry myself away from the paradise of Alexander's place. I was a little worried about safety in Acapulco, so I loved that this place is removed from the city itself, and feels like your own private desert island. We will definitely be back!
