“Beautiful hotel and great service”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

We really enjoyed are stay here. The hotel grounds are very pretty and well maintained. The service was excellent and even tough the hotel was to the max the staff still treated you excellent. We stayed in the central tower and the rooms are a little old fashion but very clean and big. They even have a walk in closet. The room has its original hair dryer..the one's that look like a mini vacuum cleaner. Though it was an old room it had its charm. It can be a little noisy if you stay in the main building because the rooms are around the atrium but it didn't bother us. We were too tired at the end of the day to care about the noise, The breakfast buffet was very good and had a lot of variety. Since we stayed during the high season we made a point to go earlier (9 to 9:30) than the rest of the people before it got to crowded.
Because it was high season it was almost impossible to get a hotel tent with chairs in the beach. You had to separate your spot at 7am. We did find that at least tents could not be used because they where missing the cover and it was to hot to stay without a cover. The beach in front of the hotel is public so that means that you will find lots of vendors. There is however a rope that separates the hotel beach chairs from the public part. The public part being a few feet from the water.
WARNING, please be careful because there are NO life guards on the beach and there are riptides. I did mention this issue during check out and they said they would mention it to their superiors.

Room Tip: If you can get a view to the ocean it's the best!

At the beginning the woman that received us seemed very nice and gave us a free upgrade, we were very pleased until we saw the view of the suite, we saw nothing but roofs, no beach, no golf course. Terrible!
After arguing for a long time they finally gave us a double room with an excellent view.
We needed to refrigerate a medicine and were told the mini bar would work but it didn't.
We arrived at 6 pm starving and there was no place where we could eat something, not even chips.
Going to the beach, they gave us a place where all the chairs were standing so we had no view, another argument. The next day, even though the beach was empty, all canopies were reserved and they had several special for golf members. In the whole day only 2 of all canopies were used.
We tried getting a tennis lesson for my son, they gave us information and the next day they would not respect the price we were given.
The hotel is nice but old, lacks maintenance and most of all service.

Stayed here for a business conference then spent an extra day as a tourist. Good hotel for both purposes. The hotel was 100% occupied, despite that, service at restaurants and front desk was good. Room was clean, with a comfortable bed, large and nicely furnished, but because it opened to the center lobby atrium the noise from the lobby and lobby bar (live music on weekends) was an issue. It didn't bother me, but would definitely be a problem for a light sleeper. Breakfast was included in our room rate, and other than the fruit not always being at the peak of ripeness, the breakfasts were excellent - lots of choices.

Room Tip: stay away from rooms that open to the lobby atrium unless backgrund noise does not bother you

This hotel has this charm of the 70's when the investment, the land and the size were not issues on hotel construction. Equipped with a superb convention facility, Its most glorious days have passed away, but the charm is still there. You will not get anything close on square feet / dollar on the gardens, pools and beachfront. Used to be far from Acapulco downtown. Now it is in the center of the scene and is one of the best places to play golf, or tennis or just relax and see the time pass by enjoying a drink and admiring the lush gardens. Rooms in the main tower are just basic, but efficient and oh my god! large!. The restored rooms in the other towers have the chic taste of modern decor, but I still prfer the basic. One of the best experiences of your life is to have an exellent breakfast buffet in the Chulavista restaurant. Just being there seeing the big waves clashing on a wide beach is worth the effort.

Room Tip: Choose the pyramid tower and try to get an ocean front room on higher than 5th floor

My 2 cousins and I stayed there for 4 days. Hotel had all we needed and more, we enjoyed the buffet breakfast and room service was great.
One of our favorite things was the saltwater pool and cascade, must try that. Also the beach is private so that was a plus.
Service was excellent and they helped us with everythign we asked for.
You can't really tell that this an old hotel, it certainly keeps up with today's standards.

Excellent hotel and facilities including own golf club. Although being nearly forty years old this hotel still shows how top hotels should operate and look after its customers.

Frequent taxi service to downtown Acapulco which is not what it was in its heyday forty years ago - but still worth a visit.

I was here in 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed it. There was some renovation going on but did not effect the overall resort. Prices were reasonable for the full service received would I walk around the premises outside the gate no, but the grounds and beach are very enjoyable. Check it out.
