For the money I paid, it was very dissapointing. Have been in various all inclusives in mexico but this is the worst so far. It is a shame that some hotels dare to triple their rate just because of the chirstmas holidays when they simply cannot offer any value for that money.
I booked for a few nights since it was high season and everything was full. When checking in we discovered that the hotel doesn’t have direct beach access which wasn’t clear at all when booking. The hotel is built against a hill with steep roads to the rooms. There is a 24hr service to drive you up and down but you have to call them first or be lucky that there is one just departing which makes me feel a bit handicapped . Walking up and down takes the same time. The hotel has an uninspiring architecture inside out.
The room: seaview and a balcony. Inside you could see the 15+ years of wear and tear. No wifi, just down in the lobby (!!). Come on, this is 2013, even a truckers motel in USA has in room wifi ( I could receive the signal of the surrounding hotels though).
The food: average, nothing special. There are 2 restaurants, 1 at the beach club and one in the main building, for which you have to make reservations. You will be seated at wedding like 8 person table with plastic chairs. For the other restaurant you have to make a reservation but doesn’t offer better food. It is a lot quieter though since they have just 15 tables. There service in this restaurant is nice and friendly. The beach: from the hotel there are shuttles running to the beach club on the other side of the main road. The beach is a 30 meter stretch for 200+ people so you can imagine how it looks like. We decided better to go on a snorkling and fishing tour the next day.

While in vacation in Mexico, some friends decided to go to Huatulco and invited to join them. We met at Mexico City and flew to Huatulco together. Being that it was a last minute trip for my friends, I didn't know where they were staying and decided I would book a room in their same hotel, which happened to be this one. When I got there, I was prohibited from even seeing a room and was given an astronomical figure for a single room with no view. My friends were as disgusted with their rudeness as I was. Long story short, I walked across the street where I was treated with dignity, paid less less, and had room facing the ocean.
As soon as I got home, I wrote a very angry letter to the management of that hotel, I want the owner of that place to know the kind of service their employees are causing them.
My recommendation is to look else where because it is just not worth it.

Room Tip: Stay elsewhere if you can

The place is definitely starting to show it's age. The hotel is set up awkward and it's a long walk/shorter shuttle ride to the beach and dining area. We had some weird experiences with the cleaning staff so I'm not sure how I feel about the security of things in my room. The pool area on the upper level was nice with great views but that was basically it's only saving grace. Okay for someone that doesn't mind bland, overly used food, plain room etc...great if you're hoping for a good deal. As someone who travels to Mexico a lot, I was definitely let down. It gets much to high of a review, I'm not extremely high maintenance but if I had never been and relied solely on these reviews I would definitely be let down.

THis hotel gets a higher rating than it deserves. The food at the buffet which you have to take a bus down to everyday and night is monotonous and poorly tasting. I have beeen to mexico a number of times, and this was a disappointment. ALso the riding up and down to the beach though a bit inconvenient isnt the worst thing. The rooms are a little musty and the staff seems to have some type of scam going on where they let each other know where you are in the hotel so when you are out of your room they enter and go through your things. Lock up or take with you, it is not a safe feeling place.

Our visit to the Crown Pacific both surprised and delighted us as previous reviews didn't always reflect what we felt. A bit older, the large resort encompasses several levels and we were lucky to be in a junior suite on the tenth level. Our large balcony overlooked the sandy beach of the Pacific Ocean, so of course, we loved spending time there. We had maid service every day and our accommodations were always perfectly clean. The three pools on different levels were well maintained, as well. Since we travelled all-inclusive, we ate most of our meals in either of the three restaurants, but usually in the larger restaurant which overlooked the pool and the beach. Meals were healthy, delicious and there was always variety. Every night, a live dinner show was featured, and the shows were different each night of the week. Most impressive, however, was the friendly service of the staff. They could not have tried harder to meet our every need. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to the beautiful area of Huatulco, Mexico!!! PS We met a few couples who are frequent visitors to Huatulco and who have stayed in many different hotels in Huatulco but now prefer only to stay at the Crown Pacific. This speaks for itself.

Room Tip: We would advise a room facing the ocean. Our higher floor provided an excellent view.
