“One of our favorites”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

We have been to Hautulco a few times now and always make a special effort to make sure that we have at least one meal at Los Gallos. The service is exceptional and the food need I say anything more is outstanding. Everything on the menu is delicious. This is a quant restaurant, on the street and open air but to sit and enjoy a meal and watch the activity in the surrounding area is a truly wonderful experience. Conversing with the other patrons is an option but hard not to due to the ambience. Try it, you will like it.

“Simple, fresh, flavourful comfort food”
Reviewed 25 May 2014 via mobile

Back off the zocalo + main streets, many patrons sit on chairs on the street at a counter facing into this busy, open air, vibrant restaurant. Many locals eat there. It is great to watch all the food being made; the air brimming with aromas of delicious cooking. The pozole is my favourite; however it's all good!
Portions are generous; prices are reasonable and service is friendly.

“good food at good prices”
Reviewed 29 April 2014

This is a Cenaduria type restaurant offering deep fried fare common in Mexico. The roll taco style "flautas" where delicious and so the were the sopes. Had the "swiss enchiladas" and chose the chicken meat ones to my delight. The fresh salsa's added a great kick to the servings. Although hot during my visit I tried the Tlalpeno Soup and loved it. I wish Los Gallos was closer to home.

“Delicious authentic oaxacan food”
Reviewed 26 April 2014 via mobile

Three visits and great food each time, the soups are particularly special and really excellent salsas (the avocado, sesame and jalapeño dip is one if the best things I have tasted in Mexico). Friendly and extreme efficient service. We live in Mexico and this is some of the nicest food I have had here

“This is a little gem!”
Reviewed 10 April 2014

This is as authentic "Mexican" as it gets! Limited seating, minimalistic decor, literally right on the street. We arrived about 8 p.m. and the place was alive with a nice mix of locals and tourists. Who obviously, like us had heard of this gem from friends. The seating area was clean but not fancy at all. They have 2 menus, one for locals and one conveniently in English for those of us who do not speak great Spanish.
You wont get a burger and fries here! Nothing but local cuisine. The owner (host )was a kind man who explained the different dishes to us and made sure that we were satisfied with every order. Six of us had 6 different dishes and all were excellent and served fast and hot. I would have liked to try more but we did not have the time.
the price is most reasonable with 6 of us dining and having drinks for about 500 pesos.
Looking forward to returning on our next visit!
